Turbow Arrow MSFS cruise climb issues
-
Mixture should be full rich if above 75% power, otherwise lean to either peak EGT for best economy or peak EGT + 100F for best power.
Cruise altitude depends on direction of flight, winds, terrain and surrounding airspace, length of flight, etc. But in general the higher, the better in terms of time and fuel usage. I usually go somewhere from 8000-15000. Being lower is sometimes better if you're VFR to help spot things on the ground.

@captaindv 19000 feet is very near the service ceiling, but it's fine.
Look at the EGT gauge, and pull the mixture (red) lever back slowly until you see the needle hit its highest point and start coming back down. Then advance it to either keep the highest point, or advance it until the temperature is 100F below peak. (each tick mark is 25F I think).
Also if you're going for realistic cruise altitudes, this is a general rule of thumb to use:
- VFR Eastbound: Odd thousand plus 500 (e.g. 3500, 5500)
- VFR Westbound: Even thousand plus 500 (e.g. 4500, 6500)
- IFR Eastbound: Odd thousand (e.g. 3000, 5000)
- IFR Westbound: Even thousand (e.g. 4000, 6000)
- Above FL180 (18000 with altimiter set to 29.92 or 1013) is IFR only
- VFR below 3000 AGL, any altitude is fine (don't have to follow the first two points)
