Differences in Flightmodel between Turbo Arrow III and IV
-
Hi,
i recently noticed that the Turbo Arrow IV has a lot more aileron drag than the Turbo Arrow III. The III is flying smooth curves, while the IV is shaking pretty heavily when using the ailerons, you can compensate this with the rudder. Is this realistic? Hard to believe that the T-Tail does have such an impact when flying curves, but i may be wrong.
Thanks

There should be little difference between the III and the IV - both have the same basic flight model, the same amount of adverse yaw defined. The difference in the tail structure is minimal and primarily addresses the horizontal tail so I'm surprised you are seeing such behaviour.

Thanks for the answer. Have reinstalled the Turbo arrow, same behavior. This is on a freshly installed MSFS with very few add ons installed, so i dont think anything is interfering. Can anyone actually confirm this or is this just happening to me?
Unfortunately i cannot tell if it is a new issue since SU5 because i purchased the Turbo arrow a day after SU5 came out and ive only flown the III version until a couple days ago. -
I don't know enough about the flight models in MSFS to answer your question, but I am wondering how you know the Arrow IV has more aileron drag than the Arrow III. What FDE editor are you using, or are you looking in the cfg file?

I didnt look up any values, thats just what i thought was the effect of aileron drag or adverse yaw. At least thats what describes it the best. I am getting adverse yaw when using ailerons, stops when ailerons are neutral again and this is much more pronounced with the turbo arrow IV for me. It even swings a bit from side to side afterwards, the turbo arrow III does not show this at all. The difference is so big that i noticed it right away when switching from the III to the IV.
