Are random failures simulated

Hey - loving the plane and it is my first JF aircraft!. I was wondering if random failures or failures in some sense were simulated? I've heard here and there that its important to do the checks in the JF aircraft cause they can have failures.

If this is the case, how can I enable this for this aircraft?
