747 Classic Progress

@Voice-of-Reason No sweat, JF - while a few folk are getting a bit short on here its only because it's such a highly anticipated aircraft. We're only glad that someone has decided to develop these classics. Thanks for putting up with the attitudes!

@iainp93 I've been waiting long enough for a good study level 747 Classic that another year or two of waiting won't bring all too much sweat if the result is worth waiting for. I am instead taking the time in waiting to assemble my airport collection so I have a nice broad collection of Routes to fly when I can finally commission one for my fleet :)

I've been collecting every bit of classic 747 routes I can get my hand on in preparation

While I wont necessarily fly any routes that have been handled by 747 Classics in real life, I have still planned my first routes which will cover a lot of airports around the world. And of course my first flight will start at Paine Field in Everett. :)
-
@SimeonWilbury Completely agree. As Guy Martin would say - "Do it well, do it once." The wait will be absolutely worth it.

In case you're not already aware of it I'd really reccommend http://departedflights.com/ for old Passenger schedules and route maps, it's pretty much my bible for most of the routes I fly. My current regular aircraft are the MaddogX MD80 and the PMDG 744 which are both mostly retired from Passenger service so I rely a lot on historical schedules when I fly in the sim.

Do you consider releasing an "Early Access", just like what Captainsim has done with their new 737cl? I just cant wait to see a new 747cl for p3dv4/v5 platform. Although an early access means bugs and faults, it can be fixed through the update.

As i had my hopes up for this project.I lost almost all hope/interest of seeing this one released.I have a feeling that it's mostly issues with the 3rd party developer doing this project.
If it ever sees the light of day in our sims,i'll be happy to use it.But for now,i'm not expecting it to release anytime soon if ever....Brgds,

@centurion88 No, not an option with this project I'm afraid. Sorry about that and we appreciate your input.

Yep this plane is vaporware now, I do hope it will get released in the near future. Maybe this year possibly.
This really sucks because I always wanted to fly a decent 747 classic especially since the days with the CLS 747-200. -

This really sucks because I always wanted to fly a decent 747 classic especially since the days with the CLS 747-200.Do you understand the meaning of the term 'vaporware'? I'll assume, out of goodwill, that you don't and that what you meant to write was "this plane is taking a very long time to make because it is so big and complicated.".
-
@Derek Hello Derek
Yes I know that Vaporware is software that has been advertised but has not yet been released either due to delays or continued development. What I was trying to say was the 747 Classic is taking much longer than we all expected. I am concerned about the project at this point and I am hoping development will continue.
I did hear it was an issue with the development of the 3D model. Whatever it is I do hope it will be resolved very soon. The reason I say this is because I care about the product and I want to see it in our sims!
To be honest I'm glad you chose the 747 Classic as the project, not too many 747 classics out there for P3D v4.

Not sure where you heard that. We're currently awaiting a new build for testing that will incorporate the completed autopilot. It's taking a while, but such is life.

CLS?? Surely you jest? I think you must have meant the RFP 747?

Any progress?

None that we can really show you. Awaiting a new build at the moment.
