Turbo III bug

  • I'm guessing a bug. Anyway, picked up this wonderful bird the other day for MSFS. I did a Fseconomy flight using the most current Simconnect for fse. For some reason using fse removes the ability to use Altitude hold. When pressed it bumps the trim so it actually climbs instead, but never engages hold. If simconnect is not on, then Alt hold works just fine. Not a huge deal as this aircraft trims really well for level flight which is in itself an accomplishment on the msfs platform.

The only other strange thing I've noticed is when i reduce the mixture i don't see the egt needle move. Maybe it's a more subtle thing. I only lien maybe 75% didn't want to kill the engine. I'll have to experiment some more.

    Thanks.
    Dave.

  • I know fseconomy disables systems (or tries to) on the aircraft to match the virtual aircraft. For example, if the virtual plane on fse doesn't have gps, it will (again, attempt to) prevent the gps in the sim from being used. I'm not sure how that works and in my experience it's only partially successful, but most likely it's trying to prevent you from using vertical autopilot because the virtual plane does not have that function.

As far as the EGT needle, do you see it move at all? It doesn't move initially but continue leaning until it starts increasing and reaches its max, and then you can adjust based on that peak. As long as you stay on the rich side of the peak, you shouldn't kill the engine

Thanks for The feedback. That makes perfect sence for fse doing that. I rechecked the aircraft i rented and it was equipped with AP, but like you say in the real one there is no alt hold. No big deal. And I'll mess around some more with the mixture.

    Thanks
