Tutorial Flight - VOR

Hi,

I was trying to follow the tutorial flight in the manual and I am having trouble getting the HSI to update and pickup the first VOR signal. The Nav flag never goes away and the needle does not update.

I've checked a few times and followed the same setup in the manual, are there any thoughts on what I could be missing? I have been using the GNS100 setup

Make sure you switch from GPS to VLOC mode. If you have GNS4/530, click the "CDI" button, or if not, there is a hidden click spot under the yoke on the label that says "NAV 1, OFF, NAV 2" written vertically (just left of the magneto switch)
