VOR signal reception problems?

I often cannot receive the VOR station signal. For example IOM (2000w). My altitude is 5000 ft and range should be D = 1,23x (√ (5000) + √ (573)).

I'm seeing a similar problem but only seems to be happening in certain places. Just been trying out the tutorial flight and the aircraft won't seem to pick up the VOR signal despite being within correct range - according to my calculations and the tutorial guide.

Any suggestions anyone?

In my case no, strangely I'm also not seeing this if I start my own flight from Shoreham it will pickup the VOR signal then and show a DME distance though the NAV flag on the HSI doesn't disappear. I'm going to try setting up my own flight plan for the tutorial flight and see if that fixes it.

@Martyn With Carenado M20R is all ok....

I had the same situation at Orca Island. The signal of locally VOR was intercepted, KN-62 displayed distance but the needle was inactive and the flag didn't disappear.

@Martyn Sorry it's my mistake!
FS2020's navaids are not the same as Navigraph's navaids. For example the VORDME DUB has a range of 130NM on Navigraph while it has a range of 38NM in FS2020. I use Littlenavmap with Navigraph navaid for this I had problems. I solved using Navigraph Navaid on FS2020 which updates the navaids on FS2020 (this program is still in BETA but it solved the problem).
