    Very promising simulation of this plane. One thing puzzles me and that is that i cannot get the RPM below 1050 which makes her roll already. I remember from rw flying that I had to put a bit of lever fwd to get that rpm for roll and could go as low as 600.

      I agree, it should idle around 600rpm. In fact I looked out the maintenance manual (because it's not mentioned in the POH as far as I could see) and it states 550 to 600 rpm for setting idle, and that certainly seems to be the case in the Arrows I've flown.

      JustFlight seemed to disagree on Twitter, based on a YouTube video showing an Arrow idling at 1000rpm. I'm not sure that's the best way to go about it, but there you go! 😄

        idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=0.49 will give you idle rpm of 600
        You can change that in engines.cfg

          I take it that won't impact anything else to do with performance? Will certainly give it a try.

            @ShadowSix

            No, tested it on full rpm.

              I agree that a YT video is not good as reference because aircraft engines are not rigged the same way and 1000 RPM is fine if you just started the engine and want to warm it up with a little throttle opening. When we do engine check we always check that with throttle idle it does not starve, but immediately increase it to 800-900 so that oil pressure and generator are working well.

                The fact that it starts rolling in idle power should be an indication that the rpm is a bit high.

                I found this POH: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1113204/Piper-Arrow-Pa-28r-201.html

                It doesn't say the exact RPM for idle power, I did however find this (chapter 4.13d):

                When the engine is firing evenly, advance the throttle to 800 rpm.

                From that we could at least conclude that it should be lower than 800 RPM.

                  @Cygnific Sign that makes a change in a file in the mod, does it require a redoing the .json file for the mod?

                    No, it's fine if you don't add/remove files. The json file contains some file sizes and timestamps but I didn't notice them to be checked by the sim.
                    So just do the change and see how it goes. Remember to make a backup first 😉

                      you can change to 600 rpm just by changing in the engine cfg .... set "idle rpm ...." to o.49. works fine
