OK, the BAe 146 had some rough finishing when it came out last Friday. Not so much in looks, the level of detail is astonishing. It took me some time to see that, due to operating issues of the plane. Now, with version 3 out, I really start to enjoy this plane. It's not a very easy plane to fly, see it as a classic plane. But now I got the FMC, FD and AP do what they are supposed to, I start enjoying it. You need to learn the tricks of flying this plane, for example catch the ILS from a heading mode (in order to switch the HSI from RNAV to NAV).

Some enhancements would be welcome, foreall the FMC. The issues are known, for example departing from LPPT there are no SID's in the FMC. I had to fly it manually (and I liked it, but it is not the way it is supposed to be). On descent, it would be nice to be able to put an altitude restraint to a waypoint in the FMC. Hope is comes. What is most important for me, after take-off a lot of trim input is needed to fly the plane properly. And in cruise my trim is at 6.0, well beyond the normal limits. But I see Justflight is enhancing the aircraft continuously, which gives me faith that this plane will be a raising star. I really start to like it!!!

I feel the very same, had my thoughts about various bugs (FMC/Autopilot), really start to like this birdie. But still looking forward to a fully functional BAe without the FMC/AP Bugs etc. 🙂

I noticed the Clock is wrong on my BAE146-300 the clock face goes from 9 (21), 10 (22), 11(22 -mistake should be 23).

My FMC in the perf page doesn't read the current Ground speed in cruise so I never get an ETA.

Has anyone figured out how to make the Directs go Direct ? Mine takes me off course and I have to use HDG to get me back on track.

@alanbyrne94 well, why not open a new thread instead of hijacking another one with something completely else? 😃

@ConcordeAG Who is Hijacking ? He is starting to get used to the plane and I am asking how he gets around certain problems.

@alanbyrne94 My topic was about getting used to the plane, despite its issues. Please open a new topic for problems you experience. And by the way, "he" is "she" in this case 😉.

@Elientje and I asked the question as you said you got used to the plane have you figured out how to get the plane to fly Direct after using DTO ?

God forbid somebody tries to ask questions on here.

@alanbyrne94 Well, look into this topic: https://community.justflight.com/topic/1337/bae-146-professional-p3d-v5-fms-ap-issues/95

And you'll see that other discuss about that issue you have 😉 In the right topic/your own topic, it's good 😉

Thanks for the positive feedback, Elientje!

This is a very complex aircraft and like you've said, there is a lot of detail that might not be apparent in the first week of flying it.
