GSX profile adjustments for the F100 – FWD stairs contact and potable water service
-
Hi everyone,
I have found two small issues with the GSX profile for the Fokker 100, and I wanted to share the adjustments that solved them for me.
The first issue affects the forward passenger door. With the original position, the GSX stairs appear to make contact with the fuselage and repeatedly push or shake the aircraft while positioning themselves.
Moving the forward passenger door point slightly farther away from the fuselage solved the problem:
[exit1] pos = -1.70 11.94 0.27 0.00The second issue affects the potable water service. With the original water connection position, GSX accepted the request but did not generate a water vehicle.
After some testing, I found that the original connection point was too low for the GSX water vehicle. The vehicle only started appearing when the connection height was raised. However, using the same longitudinal position placed the truck very close to, or underneath, the wing.
I therefore moved the water service point farther aft and slightly farther away from the fuselage. The following position works correctly for me and keeps the truck clear of the wing:
waterpos = -1.90 -3.00 -0.05With this change, the GSX potable water service works correctly and the truck parks clear of the wing. However, this is only a functional GSX workaround: the truck will no longer connect at the Fokker 100’s natural or real water service location.
So far, this configuration has solved both issues:
- The forward stairs no longer contact or move the aircraft.
- The potable water vehicle is generated correctly.
- The water truck parks in a more suitable position, clear of the wing.
It may be worth including similar adjustments in a future update of the official GSX profile.
