V1.2 Update: Honest Review
-
Thanks for the additional feedback, João. We are busy investigating now.
We believe that both the LOC intercept and flight plan wiping issues are fixed.
Hi everyone,
Just a quick heads-up regarding the new V1.2a patch released today. Unfortunately, the ILS localizer capture bug, where the aircraft banks in the opposite direction of the course, has not been resolved.
I tested this update on the exact same flight and approach where I originally reported the issue (the ILS W for RWY 33 at SBCT). The aircraft exhibited the exact same erratic behavior and turned the wrong way upon capturing the localizer.
To help the development team reproduce and investigate this persistent issue, I will be submitting a full support ticket shortly. I will include my flight logs, screenshots, and the complete SimBrief flight plan so the team can replicate the exact conditions.
Best,

Hey all, I can confirm that ILS capture is still a bit odd. Just made my second flight now with 1.2a.
Also to comment on the AT behavior: I consistently see the speed drop quite a lot when lowering gear on final. AT reacts way too late and then shoots speed up way too much. In this last case ref speed was 130, AT accelerated to 165 knots before it came down again. Many thanks for the otherwise wonderful plane and efforts to improve, kind regards ! -
Wanted to report the same issue as the above. When my landing gear is deployed, speed drops significantly. It ignores the ATS speed and drops well into the stall regime.

Best,
JoãoThanks for the continued feedback. We believe that we have now addressed the remaining ILS localiser capture issues.

@Martyn thanks for your continued effort to bring the Fokkers to a quality level where most people expected this addon to be.

Thank's for the reports.
I will definitely refrain from a purchase until all these significant issues are sorted out.
Best regards

Hi all,
We wanted to provide an update on the issues raised in this thread. Our current development and testing priorities are:• ATS behaviour
• ILS capture and intercept behaviour, particularly from larger intercept angles
• Holds and missed approaches
• Approach insertion and reselection reliabilityWe recognise that these systems are fundamental to IFR and online operations, and that failures during an approach can significantly affect the usability of the aircraft.
We will shortly release v1.3 alongside the Marketplace versions. This update will include improved AFCAS automatic trim, autopilot disconnection following sustained manual stabiliser-trim input, and a variety of other AFCAS and ATS fixes and refinements. We will share the full changelog before release.
To set expectations clearly, v1.3 will not contain all the work currently underway in the priority areas listed above. The Marketplace and non-Marketplace versions are being kept at feature parity, but the Marketplace release work and these systems-development tasks are being handled in parallel.
Several relevant fixes are now approaching completion. These include safeguards intended to prevent an existing route from being lost if an approach or transition cannot be successfully reinserted, together with further improvements to ILS intercept-direction handling. Our testing team is also evaluating a substantial rewrite of the hold and missed-approach logic.
These changes require careful testing across different procedures, intercept geometries and navigation-data cycles. We want to release them as soon as they are ready, while avoiding regressions elsewhere in the FMS and flight-guidance systems.
Thank you for the detailed reports, routes and videos supplied so far. They have been extremely helpful in identifying and reproducing these issues, and we will continue to provide updates as the remaining fixes progress.

Thank's for the update.
However the above issues are absolute no go items and the criticism from the thread-opener why these havn't been detected ( or fixed ) during beta testing is definitely justified.
That question arises for myself too.
Best regards
