Entry Way lights What am I doing wrong?

Standing in the entry way at the door and I cannot get the entry lights to turn on. Every other light on the panel comes on, just not the one in the entry, nor lights on the integrated airstairs

Did you go out of airplane and next come in again as a workaround? I had this issue once but a long time ago so I'm not sure.

I noticed this the other day. It seems to be tied to the cockpit door. If I open it, the light comes on and I have full control over it. If I close it, it goes off and can't be adjusted. This affects both the lighting panel next to the door and the galley area and work light panels in the galley itself.
I have no idea if that's how it's supposed to be, but operating the water boilers in the dark doesn't seem like a particularly fun time!
I can't find any mention of it in the manual.
