A proposal for Breaker Checking
-
The inspection of breakers primarily relies on tactile feedback. IRL, most of the time, hands are simply run over them to check if any have tripped, often without barely looking. Obviously, this is something that can't be replicated in a simulator, so focus must be placed on them visually. This can pose challenges in low-light conditions or in case of low resolutions monitors.
This suggestion originates from a memory of classic graphic adventures, such as those from LucasArts. In those games, when we were stuck on a puzzle, we would often move the mouse around the screen, searching for any object that could help solve it.
My proposal consists of having an effect similar to that of graphic adventures: when hovering over a breaker that has tripped out, it would change to red, alerting us to the failure and easily differentiating it from the typical blue highlight used for the default hover. This would allow for a quick and unmistakable recognition of the issue. Additionally, it would be very useful in low-light situations or nighttime flights.
I do not know the feasibility of implementing such a feature or how long it would take, but I believe this idea could prove helpful.
