Visual Feedback: unrealistic spinner ice texture animation on Black Square aircraft
-
Hello,
First of all, a huge thank you to the developer for these incredible aircraft. The systems depth and attention to detail in Black Square products are absolutely industry-leading, which is why I love flying them so much, if there wasn't one thing that unfortunately hurts the immersion, and I really hope the developer can look into it again.
The Issue:
When ice builds up, the texture on the propeller spinner (cone) remains completely static. When the engines are running, the ice does not rotate or blur; it just stands still while the propeller spins behind it. This creates a noticeable visual disconnect right in the pilot's main field of view.Regarding previous feedback:
I mentioned this in the forums before and was told that this was a deliberate design choice due to the way the animation is set up. While I understand that every design choice has its reasons, I kindly but strongly urge the developer to reconsider this.Black Square stands for absolute perfection and "study-level" fidelity. Leaving a frozen, static texture on a fast-spinning component feels like a shortcut that doesn't match the incredible quality of the rest of the aircraft. Other projects published by Just Flight (like the Piper Turbo Arrow) prove beautifully that this can be solved by mapping the ice texture to the rotating propeller geometry. It would be nice if this could be upgraded in a future update to give these masterpieces the final visual polish they deserve.
I have attached two screenshots to illustrate the difference.
