So, I've messed up preflight tonight. I believe. i had VNAV issues (not showing predictions etc) on climb and descend, and on TO/APPR page no speeds were shown so I think I didn't put in the weight.

But, I can deal with that... bigger problem was, in cruise at some point, the speed window went --- and... I couldn't get it out there. I changed to LVLCH, I changed to V/S, still --- IAS/M sel, no help. I could actually see plane follow M number on LVLCH, and, upon clicking on SEL button, follow IAS mode, but I couldn't change the speed, neither the speed window nor the speed bug on EADI reacted.

I tried recycling the computers by disconnecting the AP, turning off the FDs and turning them all back on again, but didn't help.

Which I think, retaining the setup in memory after FD cycle might be a bug by itself?

It's tricky to know what the exact cause is without seeing the exact behaviour in the sim, but under the IAS/M window, if one were to set the NORMAL/V2 selector to V2 when in flight, that would cause dashes "---" to appear on the IAS/M window. In that scenario, the only way to rectify that would be to move the selector back to NORMAL.

        I.. hmm.

I was like 99% sure I was in Normal mode, but I did take screenshots... and I was indeed in V2 mode.

So chalk this one up to operator error.
