How do you fly an RNAV approach?
-
They technically can based on the FMS and the IRS system but without a GPS you would illegally be conducting them without equipment giving accuracy to .3 of a nautical mile.
You can set the AP into Nav and PROF and it'll follow the rough profile on the FMS

Correct, the Fokkers do not have GNSS/GPS so can't fly an RNAV. Same in real life.
You can fly them in the sim, but the systems are not build or certified for it. -
@kityatyi I doubt they develop something that may not be found on any current operator. Alliance out of Australia is the largest fleet of F70 and F100 at about 35 total airframes. I cannot find any info on if they have been upgraded. There is only one upgrade provider I can find, Fokker Services Group. You have a great old school aircraft that you can fly old school approaches on. Take advantage. Also, remember that such upgrades would have cost a few million dollars for operators and it will cost JF time to do. Like the real-world operators, you have to ask yourself if you would be willing to pay for such an upgrade. If JF were to do it, they may not charge anything for it, however when asking for such detailed development it should be something you find worth paying for.

What you are writing is contradictort this post:

To me, it would appear the type has seen such upgrades, and JustFlight hasn't ruled out a future update to implement GNSS/GPS capabilities.
Also, having the option doesn't hurt anyone.

@Crabby Hi Crabby I don't mean to contradict you, and I certainly don't intend any disrespect. I work with the Fokker fleet here in Australia, and from my experience I can confirm that the aircraft are equipped with GNSS.
The GNSS retrofit is particularly important in Australia, as many of the regional and remote aerodromes these aircraft serve rely primarily on RNAV (GNSS) approaches rather than conventional ground-based navigation aids. Without GNSS capability, access to a significant number of these airstrips would be far more limited, especially in varying weather conditions.
That said, I completely agree with your point about enjoying some of the more traditional and challenging approaches while they're still available. They definitely add character to flying the aircraft, and it's always nice to mix things up when the opportunity arises.

@Ausgorilla245 You are not contradicting me. I said I could not find any information on the fleet in Australia. I actually figured that if the upgrade was done on any of the operational fleet it would have been Alliance. I just gave up searching that. Also, if you notice my avatar, I am a Marine and have no feelings to hurt or contradict. I had my feelings removed with my wisdom teeth at boot camp. Having no feelings means I rarely get mad or butt hurt.
