Auto pressure system increasing cabin altitude too high

I'm cruising at FL30 and got a warning that the cabin altitude was too high. I checked and it over 10,000'. I turned it to manual and lowered it down.
However when I turned it back to auto it then continued back increasing the cabin altitude to dangerous level. I've attached a video showing this. In the display even though I turn it to Auto it's showing the cabin altitude is decreasing at 1500fpm, while the actual cabin altitude is increasing. This led to much confusion on the flight deck/

I have seen that issue only once or twice in the 146 (I know this is the RJ). It happened one flight and then mysteriously went away, never to be seen again.
Does it persist between sim sessions? If you go back to the main menu or restart the flight, is the cabin still descending in altitude? In my case I think I let it equalize on the ground (inadvertently, I was doing something else) and then it worked as expected since.
