UNS-1 Tune Page
-
As is tradition, when the 2.4 update for the 146 dropped, I redownloaded all the manuals from the JF support page (since they're no longer packaged with the product), and while thumbing through the UNS-1 manual, I noticed that the Tune page is filled out in the manual. In the 146, the Tune page continues to show INOP as I originally expected.
I didn't think this was worth a ticket, but should the Tune page be working in the 146? The only other airliner I know of that shares the UNS-1 is the F28, which I do not own, but from browsing that manual that doesn't look like those radios would support remote tuning, either.

There are no plans to bring the UNS-1 TUNE page functionality to the 146, as our reference material indicates that the real aircraft didn't have the TUNE page enabled.
The reason why we added it to the F28, was due to the F28's ADF radios not being very intuitive to use in MSFS. Compared to the 146, where you simply set an ADF frequency and the aircraft is either within range of the NDB or not, in the real world F28, you could infinitely tune the ADF radios to any frequency, and you'd make micro adjustments to it to find the frequency that had the highest signal stregth (much like how you'd tune an old analog AM/FM radio). That logic isn't really suited to ADF radios in MSFS, which only detect that an NDB is in range if the exact frequency is tuned, so we decided that was a worthwhile investment in time to develop for the F28.
The 146 has intuitive and easy to use ADF, COM and VHF NAV radios, so we have chosen to keep the aircraft simulated as accurately as possible.
