FS2024 Settings Update?
-
With regard to the settings which were added/expanded with SU3, they should follow the same basic philosophy we have recommended previously. Essentially, the fewer other objects the simulator is generating, the more
I don't believe there is anything mandatory that we would recommend setting with the new SU3 options, and the settings can largely be set per each user's personal preferences. However, we do recommend that the "Parked Aircraft Quantity" is set to OFF, as that will prevent any MSFS default Ai aircraft from generating at gates and taking parking spaces away from FS Traffic aircraft.
I have attached a screenshot of how I have those new settings set on my PC for reference:
Hope that helps.

In order to see FS Traffic generated traffic, you'll need to have the FS Traffic Module option enabled on the Options page of the Traffic Control Centre.
Then, in order to see multiplayer traffic, you'll need to have set the following options within MSFS:
- "Multiplayer" option must be enabled (for MSFS 2024, the multiplayer setting lives here: Settings > General > Online > Data Connection),
- "Aircraft Traffic Quantity" must be set to LOW or higher (for MSFS 2024, the multiplayer setting lives here: Settings > General > Graphics > Advanced Settings
- In the Flight Conditions window, "LIVE" or "ALL PLAYERS" must be enabled (for MSFS 2024, the Flight Conditions panel is located at the top right corner of the world map page).
- There's an old thread on the offical MSFS forums that includes some screenshots of each of those options if that helps (note, it does show the pre-SU3 settings though): https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-2024-multiplayer-settings-group-flights-msfs-2024/673576
Note that the model matching with multiplayer traffic is entirely controlled within the simulator.
Hope that helps.

I'm a bit confused now, Mark, as in the screenshot 25d ago, "Aircraft Traffic Quantity" is "off", and in the message just now you say it should be at least "low".
Which one is now correct? Or did this actually change in the meantime?

We would always recommend keeping all of the aircraft/vehicle options in MSFS as low as possible. This prevents MSFS from generating any of its own traffic and also ensures the lowest number of objects are loaded in the simulator, reducing the likelihood of you running into the simulator's object count limit.
If, however, you would like to see multiplayer aircraft generated in addition to FS Traffic aircraft, you will need to have the "Aircraft Traffic Quantity" setting set to at least "LOW".
