Landing light facing up on the Velocity XL
-
Hey,
the Velocity XL really is a great looking model! I espeacially love the engine model.
Sadly at night I found out that the landing lights seem to be facing up.
I removed all mods related to lights and tried DX11 and 12, but I couldnt find a solution yet.
Is there already a solution for that?
Thanks! -
Sorry it took me until now to look into this. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this. The effect used for the Velocity's landing light is the default Asobo effect file, "LIGHT_ASOBO_Landing.fx". Try searching your Community Folder for any aircraft that might be overwriting this effect file. Let me know how it goes!

Thank You for the answer!
It seems to collide with the newlights mod from flightsim.to.
I think the mod changes the light texture and it's less oval then the default one.
The default light a bit to the ground but also mainly up for me.
Is there a way to point it a bit down? -
You could manually edit the two systems.cfg files in the Velocity's directory in your Community Folder. The line you're looking for is
lightdef.4=Type:5#Index:0#LocalPosition:9.5,0,-0.33#LocalRotation:-20,0,0#EffectFile:LIGHT_BKSQ_Landing#PotentiometerIndex:1#EmMesh:LandingLight_IL
You could edit
LocalRotation:-20
toLocalRotation:-35
, perhaps. -
I've compared the Velocity's directory with that of a friend who bought it here.
He has the same problem with the angle of the light, but his directory contains a systems.cfg file that can be edited as mentioned above. As I bought it on the Marketplace, I couldn't find such a file.
Is there a way to edit the lamp on the Marketplace version of the aeroplane too?As I haven't fought in many dogfights with this model, I would prefer the landing light to face downwards.

The Systems.cfg file is encrypted on the Marketplace version, unfortunately. Since you have a friend with the Velocity on PC, you could compare which addons you both have to find the one that's interfering with the default landing light effect. I'm very sorry that you're experiencing this, but when it works correctly on my end, it makes something you have installed on your end the likely culprit.
