Testing this version on the current beta 1.4.12.0, some quick observations.

    • Auto pilot dive/climb switch not functional - this severely limits the usability of the aircraft
    • Gamin GPS: Aircraft symbol hardly visible if you don't zoom in (5120x1440 here, all maxed out)
    • Is it possible that she has even more drag than previous versions? Speed bleed off in a steep climb (e.g. entering a wingover) is insane (feels even worde than before).

No changes to the drag (unless Asobo have done something behind the scenes) - speed bleed off IS , well, not insane but way more than you would expect from a regular aircraft because of that large delta. Think aerodynamic braking. Research Dave Thomas' comments about flying a display - paraphrased as "That's why the [1980s and '90s] displays were so noisy, you just sat there with the engines powering away balancing it against the drag from the wing. If you got into a low speed situation, just unload the wing for a couple of seconds and then heave back into the buffet zone".

        Thx a lot!
I know the speed bleed-off is supposed to be huge - but only at high AoA's. Check the videos of 558's wingovers (especially Kev's infamous one at the last RIAT display) - 558 was able to keep the vertical climb a lot longer than JF's Vulcan. I'd estimate that about 2.500 ft of vertical climb are missing.
One main problem is also the lack of nose-up elevator authority at low speeds - one ought to be able to pitch up quicker (alse deducted from the videos).

I's a pity - a year after her last flight I spent a RIAT lunch break with Kev, but neither bothered to ask him about all the details of her flight dynamics nor even dreamed of being able to fly such a magnificently modelled 558 in some kind of photo realistic flight simulator...
