As I was entering my desired rate of descent in the UNS-1 VNAV page, the unit abruptly turned itself off. After trying unsuccessfully to turn it on again, I had a look around and realized that one of the radio masters on the pedestal was turned off.

I didn't toogle it using the mouse, so there must be a default keybind that I accidentally hit. But which one?

This happened again. Radio Master 1 went to off, and I lost the UNS-1.

After turning RM1 back on, I was unable to power the UNS-1 back up again.

(I've opened a support ticket, so this is just FYI in case someone else has the same issue and comes here looking for a resolution).

If you have hardware connected simply check for any binds that could cause that. A bit of work ahead 😉

@JetNoise the only bind that could do this would be a default MSFS 2020 keyboard binding, but I don’t see anything with a name that suggests it would disable the radio master.

@trisager and obviously the "key" has to be pressed to trigger something. 😉

Only if you are not aware of it: Some hardware has default binds from MSFS, like the HC Alpha/ Bravo / ...

Thanks. I’ve checked all assignments on my throttle and stick, and other than flight control axes and a parking brake toggle, there is nothing.

I guess next step is to go through the default keyboard assigns and remove everything I don’t need. Maybe the problem is one of those keys.

This might sound a bit off the wall, but do you have a second monitor? I have a second monitor off to the side that I typically use for Navigraph or Little Navmap, and I've found that if I'm not careful (and often, I'm not careful) when I click on it, something visible on my main display will still be selected when I click. Sometimes, I just hear a the click of a switch and never figure out what I accidentally click on. Other times, I lose an engine because the cutoff engine fire cutoffs are easily the largest clickable item in the cockpit. Not ideal, but I've gotten some unplanned practice restarting engines in flight...

@RPGamerous said in Radio master keybind?:

Yes, I do have a second monitor. I didn't think that clicking on it could affect the sim on the main screen, but I'll look out for that. Thanks for the suggestion!

In the meantime I've cleared all the default keyboard bindings that I never use anyway, just in case one of those was responsible.

Yeah, it came as a surprise to me, too -- but if you keep your eyes open you might see that a clickable component of your cockpit continues glowing blue, indicating it's still selected while you're clicking around your second monitor. This might not be what caused your problem but as soon as I read your post it's what I thought of.
