Flaps do not work in 2020
-
The flaps are hydraulically powered by the yellow and green hydraulic systems, and therefore, require hydraulic pressure to operate. In flight, hydraulic pressure is supplied by engine-driven pumps on engines 2 and 3. On the ground with the engines shutdown, hydraulic pressure is supplied by the AC Pump and PTU. Controls for these are located on the HYDRAULIC section of the overhead panel.
The flaps also have a baulk that prevents their operation above 227 knots. If you are flying above 227 knots, you must either slow the aircraft below that speed, or by pressing the override tab just forward of the selection lever.
Further information on the flaps can be found on paged 77-79 of the RJ Professional Operations Manual.
