A little birdie told me "two more" Black Square products were submitted a week or so ago for imminent release to the MSFS Marketplace/Xbox?

Any chance it can be revealed what they are?

(Hoping for the Analog Baron & Bonanza, myself. 😉)

We have submitted all four of the Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft to the marketplace review process, but since they are a little more usual, as aircraft products are concerned, we believe this is the cause of the slight delay. I was actually hoping your message would confirm the release of these products, since we don't know exactly when that will happen either! Please keep your eyes on the marketplace for the next week or two, and I will be doing the same!

@Black-Square Ah, ok. Awesome. Looking forward to them!

Also, question: Will the Analog Baron require the Premium Deluxe version of the Sim, or is it completely native?

The marketplace versions of the Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft are the same as the versions we sell directly, so Premium Deluxe will still be required. However, I am planning standalone versions of the Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft for MSFS 2024, which will be built from the ground up with no dependencies on the default aircraft.

@Black-Square Hmmm. Well, that's pretty awesome.

If you're rebuilding them for 2024, would it still be worth it to get them now? Or would you recommend waiting?

I think that would depend on what you're looking for, and how long you're willing to wait. I will not be releasing those products for MSFS 2024 for quite a number of months, but they will also contain significantly improved technology in almost every aspect of the aircraft, bringing them up to the standards of the Duke and TBM. This will demand a higher price-point compared to the original Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft; however we will be offering significant discounts to those owners of the older aircraft. I'm happy to answer any other questions, but I hope that helps you make your decision!

@Black-Square Fair enough. I suppose I'll buy the 2020 versions anyway, because well, it's Black Square. ☺️

However, it sounds like the 2020 Analogs will be "backward compatible" to 2024, but you will also build native version alongside them in the future?

I'm flattered. Thank you. I'm actually writing an explanation of the MSFS 2024 situation right now, so I will share it with you too. What we can say for sure at this point is that addons compiled for MSFS 2024 will not work in MSFS 2020. From what I've seen, addons compiled for MSFS 2020 will work with some very minor edits, which I imagine someone will create an automated tool for at some point. The significant work is all on the developers, since we need to adhere to strict UI (screenshots, thumbnails, descriptions, translations) and package layout standards for Asobo. However, since you're asking about my Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft, which rely on some default assets of their respective aircraft, I can't tell you exactly how they are going to behave in MSFS 2024 yet. While my focus will be on their new standalone replacements, I will definitely spend some time figuring out the easiest way to get the Steam Gauge Overhaul fleet up and running in MSFS 2024 too.
