KLN90B GPS instead of GNS530

I have seen this fantastic freeware KLN90B GPS mod for MSFS
https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/msfs-kln-90b-integration.457361/
That got me thinking that it would be fantastic for the F28 to give it a better “70’s aircraft modified with GPS in the 80’s-90’s”vibe! Much better than the GNS530 in my opinion.
Haven’t found any photos of a F28 with a KLN but there are dozens of different similar GPS variations on these aircrafts so who knows.
Is this something someone would be able to mod into the F28?

@captain-ronin We have considered adding the KLN 90B, but the difficulty we face is the more GPS units we add to an aircraft, the more difficult it is to support them all.
For instance, in the current version of the F28 Professional with no GPS selected, the F28 uses our own Autopilot logic. However, as soon as the Working Title GNS530 is selected, our autopilot logic gets overruled and the Working Title GNS530 tries to take control of the autopilot. We then have to add additional code to workaround various compatibility issues that arise, all whilst making sure the flight model is suitable for both Autopilot options. The more GPS units we add, the more code we have to add to workaround each GPS unit's quirks, and all get very messy, very quickly.
We will investigate the KLN 90B though to see if it's something we could add at a later date.

@mark Hi Mark,
I'm the author of the KLN 90B. Unlike the Working Title systems, the KLN does not overwrite the autopilot at all. It does however update the internal simulator flight plan and it was reported to me, that the default autopilot follows this flight plan. If you are interested in implementing the KLN or need any help, you can drop me a message.

@falcon71 Thank you for the offer! Martyn our development manager is currently on holiday at the moment, but I'll be sure to make him aware of this when he returns and we'll reach out to you if we need anything.
We did consider adding the KLN 90B for the F28s release, but unfortunately, we found out about the release of the KLN 90B a little too close to our projected F28 release date so we decided to stick with the WT GNS530 to not complicate matters that late into a project. With the KLN 90B not overwriting the autopilot, it does make it much more feasible for us to add it in a future update.

@Mark Hi Mark, did Martyn respond to the proposal of captain-ronin/falcon71 and have a look at the KLN90B as an alternative GPS. As this KLN90B is functional in the great BS Duke's and in the WB172, it would be a great idea to extend the use to the F28. Best regard, Auke.

@Friese2020 Made a fault in post #5; The A2A Comanche was the one I should have referred to. NOT the WB172. :-(
