Change the GNS530 on the BlackSquare 208B Caravan
-
I recently bought the BlackSquare Cessna 208B Steam Gauge, I don't have the garmin GTN 750 and I'm not really interested (I prefer the GNS 530) the problem is, the gns530 that appears on the plane is the default of asobo, it has very limited functions and I have detected that the autopilot does not follow the route in GPS mode.
I also have the Baron's BlackSquare Steam Gauge, in this case another GNS 530 appears (if I'm not mistaken it is the pms50-gns530) the question is, how can I change the GNS530 that the caravan now has for the one that the Baron has?
-
This is explained in the manuals for my latest products, but since these older ones haven't been updated with new manuals in a while, only the old guidance exists there. Luckily, there is a very easy solution! (Also, looking at the public version of the Baron, it will automatically use the Working Title GNS)
Simply go to the in-game marketplace and download the free Working Title GNS package. It's a very small package that only acts as a redirect for older aircraft to use the new WT GNS code included in recent versions of the base simulator. Let me know if that does the trick, and enjoy!

I've already done that but there are no changes to the plane, I just thought it would be easy but it's not, I already had the update before installing the caravan, I uninstalled and reinstalled it from the marketplace and nothing.
I can't get the GNS530 to change and I suppose that gives rise to other problems that I have, such as the autopilot not following the GPS route and there are times when it does not stop ascending or descending even when the ALT mode is armed, it reaches the desired altitude and continues ascending or descending.

The problems you describe are either related to your GPS issue, or a bug that was introduced into the simulator in SU14 that I've seen affect only some users. In ...\Community\bksq-aircraft-analogcaravan\SimObjects\Airplanes\bksq-aircraft-analogcaravan\systems.cfg, try setting "flight_director_available = 1", instead of 0.
Back to your GPS problem, what I described should definitely work, so long as you have downloaded the correct package, and you don't have anything in your community folder that is conflicting with it. The correct package is placed in your main MSFS content directory (alongside the default aircraft), and is called "workingtitle-instruments-gns". Its thumbnail in the content manager looks like this:
Since you mentioned the old pms50-gns530 modification, do you still have it installed? You could try temporarily moving everything out of your community folder except the Caravan to see if this makes a difference. If not, please let me know, and we can troubleshoot some more here. Alternatively, Just Flight support is quite good at deconflicting community packages, and getting the correct GPS packages installed. Let me know how it goes!

Excellent, I finally understood.
I had the folder called "pms50-gns530" in the Community folder, I removed it and now the perfect GNS350 appears. I don't understand why it hadn't given me problems with other airplanes but I already removed it from there.
On the other hand, in fact in the systems.cfg file the line flight_director_available =0 appeared, I have changed it to =1 now I will do a test flight to see what happens, I will inform you as soon as it is finished.

Excellent! Glad we got at least part of that sorted out for you. Some older aircraft need the reference file, while more recently updated ones don't, so I'm not surprised you've been able to get by with it as-is. Let me know how your testing goes!

After a full flight from MMLP to MMCN I can say that everything works perfectly.
Something I noticed is that the state of the engine returned to 100% without having repaired it (it was at 95%), I guess something was reset, it will be a matter of time to see if it doesn't "repair itself."
Thank you very much for the help as always and thank you very much for the good addons.

Excellent! Thank you for letting me know. It's also important to have these conversations on the forums here where other people can find them if they are having similar problems. Glad it's all working now. Enjoy, and let me know if I can do anything else for you!

Ok new problem found but...

Ah, sorry you've encountered that one too! It relates to an internal simulator rounding error that has been with us for years now. You can read about it here. Luckily, there is a solution, but it's nothing that I can tell you how to do quickly. If you would like, I can provide you a file that should be a drop-in replacement. I just can't do it over the forums, so you will have to get in touch with Just Flight support, and then they can send you the file. Just create a ticket and let them know that I sent you. Sorry for the inconvenience! I will include this fix in the next updates for all my aircraft.
