Hi, I'm loving the Tomahawk and I want to use the paint kit to make my own livery. I've downloaded the paint kit, and used the .psd files to paint my own scheme, I've exported the two files as .png.dds with the same name as the other livery files, I just don't know where to go from here. How do I get all of the necessary .cfg and .json files that are required to just drop the livery folder into the community folder?

    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks

I don't have any experience myself creating third-party liveries, so hopefully, some community painters can chip in here to share how they do it.

The liveries that we include with the product are originally saved as .PNGs and then when we add them to the package folders and build a package through the MSFS package system they are converted into DDS/JSON files.

I believe you may be able to export PNGs as DDS files through GIMP, and there may be Photoshop plugins that do similar. I'm not sure if that will affect the overall quality of the liveries though.

Here’s an example of how I got custom liveries working using a default airplane in MSFS, which may work for this, too: https://hypertexthero.com/painting-airplanes-in-microsoft-flight-simulator/
