New airlines don't appear
-
Hello,
I have been able to add liveries to airlines that already exist in the schedule database. However, if I go and add a new fictional airline, no airplane actually appears in the simulator.
Example: I added a livery for Pakistan International Airlines for Asobo's A320 neo. But when I make a fictional airlines of Pan Am, and assign it to the livery from flightsim.to, no airplane appears in the sim.
My ultimate goal is to be able to add lots of AI traffic for a fictional airline using AIG's MD-83 model. After a ton of fiddling, it seems like the creation of new airlines is one piece of the problem that I've been able to isolate. Making the AIG's MD-83 models work seems like a related but separate issue.
Thanks!

@Rich Hi, I was wondering if you may have any idea of what is going wrong?
As said above, the A320neo is set up to be used for AI (is in the Just Flight Fleet Folder). Assigning a livery that is already in the database (PIA) successfully results in the airplane appearing in the sim from the schedule manager. However, creating a new fictional airliner not already in the software results in no plane appearing in the sim.
Another question, do AIG models and FSLTL models need to be copy and pasted into Just Flight's traffic folder? This is not spelled out in the manual.
Thanks

Hi,
You do not need to copy the AI aircraft into any other folders. Just set them up according to the devs instructions and you'll only need the title= entry for FS Traffic to utilise them.
To use a fictitious airline, you'll need to manually add an entry for it to the airlines database file.
To do so go to where your packages are installed> \justflight-fstraffic-module\Data\DBs and open Airlines.xlsx
Add a line at the top and add the codes and various details for your airline. Save it and restart the app so that it reloads the updated file. Now when you type in the Carrier name when creating a schedule, you should see the "Airline" field populate in the Schedule Details section with the airline name and code.
I'll make a note to add an automatic way to do that in a coming update. -
Sure. Although FS Traffic has it's own fleet of aircraft in the community folder, it does not have to exclusively use these, and any additional aircraft you might want to use do not (and shouldn't) be added to the default FST aircraft folder.
As long as the aircraft you do want to use is recognised by the sim, you can utilise it in FS Traffic with just it's title, as long as it is configured for use as AI. By "configured for use as AI" that means it has the flag "canBeUsedByAITraffic" set to =1 in the aircraft.cfg. Without that it cannot be used by FST.
In the case of most of the additional AI aircraft you can get from various sources, these will likely come with that flag already set, so once you've added them to the sim in the normal way they would be available to FST.
In the case of most normal third party aircraft this flag is set to =0 as without the aircraft being built in a way that is optimal for AI, setting this to =1 can easily cripple your sim due to multiple instances of aircraft with huge textures and models being loaded.
