Fuel transfer in fuel tanks

Hello, what is the right procedure to transfer fuel between the tanks during flight and refueling. I usually have some tanks empty and other full of fuel despite all the switches are set to auto. The engines sometimes go out and won't start, even though some tanks are full and the L+R pipes are interconnected.

I have also tried to transfer fuel for the same reason. My Number 3 engine died, tank 2 was empty but 3 & 6 had about 1000lbs each. opening the crossfeed has no effect so I hope it will be fixed in a future update.

The fuel system is very close to the top of our list of areas we would like to improve in the Vulcan. We cannot provide any timeframe for these improvements at this time, but we'll share any progress we have on this through our normal social channels as well as the changelogs.
