WX Radar in the BAE146 - is it really working as expected?

I saw a video claiming the MSFS WX Radar API was fully compatible with the data needed to truly model it properly for airliners, and that it was implemented as such in the BAE146.
I did a small test by placing a storm layer just 3000 ft above my airplane, and played with the tilt.
It seems that when I was in the storm, it would show in the radar the same regardless of tilt, and when the storm was off my altitude by as much as 3000 ft, it would not show at all at any range or tilt.
Is it supposed to work as I expect? -

The way the weather radar is implemented in the 146 Professional / F28 Professional is it will show any precipitation ahead of the aircraft in a top-down view and it won't take into effect the altitude of the precipitation with respect to the aircraft. Therefore the tilt will have no effect apart from the tilt angle number updating on the display.
If Asobo/Microsoft are able to improve or open up more options in the Weather Radar API, we will be sure to make any improvements possible to our weather radar.

Hi @Mark , could I ask why this mode was chosen? The SDK offers Vertical and Horizontal views as-well

@lucky38i I second that. Even though I think mark's statement leaves little room for interpretation ...
I'm not sure however, where this information regarding the fact that it CAN do vertical imaging suddenly comes from if he stated otherwise (as have other developers) in his comment...

@baeflyer it’s not sudden, just not often discuss but these are remarks from the SDK and it’s usage in the NEXRAD radars in WT aircraft.

@lucky38i So it IS possible but implemented in a way that´s making it impractical to implement for 3rd party developers?? Because PMDG pretty much says otherwise.
Then again, there´s a lot that PMDG says, these days...

@lucky38i Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I've been in touch with our weather radar developers and we believe the vertical and horizontal modes may be possible with WASM gauges, however, as our weather radar is implemented using an HTML gauge we are limited to just using the "top-down" type view.
We're happy to be proven wrong on this though. So if you have any links to specific areas of the SDK that cover the areas you are describing feel free to send them our way. I can then pass those on to the relevant development teams to investigate and we can investigate if anything can be added in a future update to the 146.
