How to secure aircraft assignments under v1.0.6

In order to avoid missing traffic because of missing liveries for certain aircraft versions (e.g. for the missing Swiss A340 -> I assigned a Swiss A330 livery), I previously assigned all aircraft’s where there was no existing livery with alternative liveries. Since this was quite some work for all aircraft’s, I would like to ensure that I don’t lose these manual assignments with the update to the new version.
Could someone please advise whether I am safe with just running the update or whether I would need to backup certain files before.

luckily i asked that question a couple of weeks ago as i wanted to save all my aircraft extras and the schedules.
The way to do it is before you do the update, copy the Data folder which contains your aircraft and schedules,
then do the update, delete out the new data folder it created and put in the data folder you saved. -
