Anyone know how to get the plane to fly an AP managed descent on a RNAV approach with the Garmin 530 active? I've tried several times and cannot pull on off.

AP = Actual Pilot - there is no VNAV capability - descend in Pitch or IAS mode with mk.1 brain power 🙂

For approaches I use LNAV from GPS and the descent tables on the charts

      Old Skool ftw

@b3lt3r Yea I was pretty sure that was going to be the case. Just wanting to make sure I wasn't missing something in this old thing. LOL.

@rbringh I kind of hope the UNS-1 will enable full RNAV but I have no clue.... Whatever - I am seriously addicted to this plane... I need Fokkers Anonymous stat!

@b3lt3r Well according to WTT it is capable ...RNAV must be a LP+V type approach. The GNS will show you what type it is after you enter into IA portion of the approach. If it is an LPV approach as you enter into the FA portion your HSI will show the glide path. On your autopilot panel make sure APPR is enabled and when you reach the GP the aircraft will follow it down.

Tried it at KMSY RNAV 29 which is LP+V. Position on path was shown on HSI but I couldn't get it to follow it down on it's on. I'm going to try it again though...LOL.

Interesting - I'll play later and see. Could it be related to the FD options for GS Auto/Man? shrugs.

@b3lt3r I flew my Embraer Bandeirante this morning with the 530/430 option and it performed just like WTT told me. Flew the RVAV approach all the way down. I agree it must be Just Flights AP choice. However the GLIDE button could be for Glide Slope and Glide Path. I guess I will have to beg for this GPS to be fully implemented.
