Update

@avionic Yes it was exactly that. Turns out more time was needed to get through the testing phase. Few small things turned up, are being fixed right now and require final testing. So very close to being there, just bear with us a few more days.
Thanks for your interest.

@voice-of-reason thanks for the update on release schedule. We now have not 1, but 2 "current" versions of EGLC available - so I for one, am very excited for this update. All the best to the team!

@voice-of-reason i hope that "a few more day" will coming soon😘

@voice-of-reason same here, really hoping for the "couple days" before end of week (:

@knidarkness and others..
It will be dropping before the little fokker, rest assured. This update is undergoing final testing right now but installers need to be built and then a sanity check completed before it's set live. That means it won't be today or over the weekend but it will be on Monday. We're 99.999999% positive on that now.
What won't be included is the new FMS. That will follow though as it's close to being finalised and tested etc.
So sorry it's crept into next week but the good news is it's very very imminent.
Thanks for your interest and patience and have a great weekend.

@voice-of-reason thanks for the good news! Looking forward to flying your birds!

@voice-of-reason well a bit disappointing about no new fmc for this update but i want to ask the new fmc will release before RJ?
-
@m0n3t2 Yes definitely and it should be next week and might even make the main update, we'll take stock on Monday and decide what to do. Bear with is but worst case it'll be a couple of days after the first update. Thanks for the interest.

@voice-of-reason While I'm happy the update is closer and most likely for Monday the lack of FMS is immensely disappointing. This update, as far as many are concerned, is for the FMS. I personally know two people who won't even get the plane until it has the UNS-1.
What exactly is holding it back? I really hope it doesn't get pushed back into multiple weeks or months.
Sorry if this sounds rude, but its super frustrating.

@melon I'm also kinda disappointed. But also very glad that JF has a quality assurance process that prevents half finished things getting into our hands. I run software development teams IRL, and take it from me, it's so hard to give accurate release estimates (which is likely why many other FS Devs don't!). So, whilst I share your disappointment, I'm also happy that when we do get it, it'll be worth the wait :-)
-
@voice-of-reason So about that "worst case it'll be a few days" thing...
Another thing I either missed or isn't included in the article (and presumably the update), that was in the previous article.
Did these not make the update either? So instead we get... failures and random cargo? I'm sorry, but I don't know a single person who use random system failures (certainly not more than once), other then like wear and tear. The two things people I know were excited about for this update were the FMS and the calculators... again I am sorry if this sounds rude but I really want to question your allocation of resources on why man hours were wasted on a system very few people will actually use.@FailCold Considering the UNS-1 was supposed to be out last year based on previous posts back after the 146 initially came out... and just now one of my friends have said in Discord they're going to pass on the 146 because of the lack of UNS-1 in this update (which I had all but sold them on getting because of this update supposedly including the UNS-1), and wait for the RJ instead.

I have to say that I am having a hard time believing the UNS coming in a couple of days. I'll be happy to be proven wrong and will be very happy if it makes it with in a couple of weeks even. We have seen some screenshots and dev updates, initially as far as i can remember, it was supposed to be out in January, but then deleays happened. And now we are in May. I understand a lot have changed in MSFS since then particularly the Xbox wasm thing. So it might take time to finalize things. But if the UNS is so close to being done, and since they have delayed this release this long anyway, i think it wouldnt have hurt much to delay it a couple of weeks more to get the full thing out at once. Although there is a chance that they are staggering the release to avoid having new bugs at a lot of different areas at once. In that case, they might see how this update goes from a quality standpoint and then release the UNS. But I'll believe it when I see it.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a great plane to fly, the update is very well appreciated and I for one like the random failure systems. But if the UNS and perf calculation was included, it would have been a complete package, may be not in the league of Fenix or Maddog, but still a complete package interns of what was promised before release.

@melon First things first, the FMS - that's me being as positive as I can stating it will be in the next couple of days (something I did believe last week), maybe a tad optimistic, we shall see and then somebody else at JF, he who pens the news items opting for a more cautious stance by stating in the coming weeks. We shall see what happens, it very much depends on what the next build from the developer pans out like. It's looking very good, better than we'd originally hoped but a few things aren't quite working as we'd hoped so more work and more testing is required.
On the calculators, we should have mentioned this previously. When we stated 'we are nearly finished...' that actually meant the third-party developer was nearly finished. That was the case back then so there was hope that it'd be done pretty soon and definitely in time for this update. We were then let down and the said developer disappeared into the distance. Several attempts have been made to rouse said developer but all to no avail. So for now we have to concede that that's not going to be happening anytime soon. It's on our minds and something we're looking at other options for, but not going to promise anything on it for now. So, sorry to anyone who was waiting for that feature, we were let down, simple as that I'm afraid.
Not obliged to answer questions about how we choose to allocate our resources and manpower but suffice to say the people coding failures and some of the other 'requested' features that have made it into this update were not responsible for working on the FMC coding (that's from a third party) or the calculators coding (that was due to be from a third party). Of course we understand the 'failures' feature is a bit of a luxury item, there are other things that have been coded and implemented that weren't part of any original spec for the plane but that people have requested, might be a small number of people, but it's noted so when the opportunity arose the dev team took it and proceeded to get that and other features in there and working for the community. Of course not everyone will utilise and get the most out of some of those things, that's a given, it's not going to halt us trying to make the a/c the best it can be, within the restraints of the host sim of course. And to repeat the inclusion of that and anything else in the update hasn't been to the detriment of anything else, nothing else has been sacrificed.
It's a shame your friend isn't going to get the 146, that's his prerogative though and fair play, Maybe one day when the FMS is in there and working nicely he might change his mind. Not the end of the world if he doesn't though. Each to their own and sure he'll just love the RJ when that becomes available.
Thanks for your interest.

@p919h_lm Yep we did consider waiting to include the new FMS in this update. Had we done that though there would have been posts asking why we were delaying the rest of the update just for the FMS and if that happens to drag on into next week or past that then we just get pilloried even more.
So a decision has to be made, we have to make that decision so that's that really. Sorry it's not what you would have chosen to do. Hope you continue to enjoy the update and hope the FMS will be to your liking when it arrives. Thanks for your interest.

Thanks for the update @Voice-of-Reason, really appreciated. Looking forward to the eventual FMC upgrade. Seen it on the Dash 8, seems to be the UNC, looks very different than the usual Boeing ones.
Any update re the RJ? I presume the UNS is going to be in the RJ too since you're spending so much time on it?
Kind regards

Anyone know the updated version number?
I’m showing version 1.8 as of now (1353 US Central Time) but have not noticed anything new.
I did make the mistake of purchasing thru Marketplace (never again!) but I assume that it was updated as well.
Also, did I read right… no UNS-1? If so… ugh!!!!! I’ll keep on flying convention VOR Airways.
Thanks

@voice-of-reason well, like i said, it's one of my favourites. And i like the way it is currently. Haven't flown it yet, but the failure system looks nice. Just a suggestion regarding that, and this is entirely my own niche requirement, but i would like to have an option like in black square overhaul mods where i can crank the failure probability really high. So that it's guaranteed to have a random failure in a 1 hr flight. That way, there will be a bit of surprise element but i won't know exactly what's going to fail and when. Not sure how high probability does the high setting has though.
Hoping to get the UNS soon. The lack of perf calculation is a bummer but I suppose in due time we may see it. Also hope the RJ professional is very close to release. The short stubby planes are a bit of a weakness of mine it seems, same for the A310/18/19.
Again, appreciate the update.
