With WASM imminent for Xbox are there still plans for an Xbox release?
-
@voice-of-reason With WASM now released and implementation looking to be extremely well done, is there any new news to share?
Where's the best place to check for updates or news regarding the Xbox release process?
I'm so very much eagerly awaiting the release. I don't know if I've honestly ever been so excited for a release before, believe it or not!
Thank you.

Unfortunately, the 'release process' is not something we have any control over. That is down to MS. Our content that is already on the Marketplace for PC (PA28s, Hawk, 146 etc) are all due updates fairly soon. Those will be passed to MS and, assumning that goes OK and it is something they wish to do, then they can release the aircraft for XBox. If we had any influence over the process we'd be using it, but it is not our call.

Thank you, Derek. I absolutely understand that and generally how the market process works.
From what you're saying does this mean Microsoft has the 146 Xbox update/release submitted to them for approval and inclusion in the marketplace and we are just waiting for them to get to and push that Xbox release to live?
That "Xbox compatible" checkmark still has to be checked by developers so Asobo can update the platforms on the marketplace whenever they do finally get around to pushing through the changes. If that's already been done and we are just waiting for the release to go live on the marketplace that's fantastic news!
Thank you.

@easy301 No the 146 hasn't been submitted as yet. The first raft of our products, mainly the Piper aircraft will be submitted next week we hope and that should see them being made available for Xbox pretty soon after, although we have no control on just how quickly that will happen. The 146 requires a little more work and will follow in the next round of products that we submit. It shouldn't be too long but we're not able to give any guaranteed dates just yet on that.
Hope that helps.

That helps greatly and gives more clarity on where everything stands at the moment in terms of the 146.
Thanks for creating this aircraft and all the work you and the team are continuing to do to make sure it arrives on the Xbox platform in good condition.
It's been a hard wait for sure, though hopefully it shouldn't be very much longer.
Thank you for being so responsive and forthcoming with the updates and information in regards to this post, it's very much appreciated. I'll be the first in line once it finally arrives,
Regards,

Hello. Has there been any progress or updates on the 146 coming to xbox?
-
@rayyanghozi No not yet. Bits of work happening this end but other projects and priorities in the way currently. It's all planned but nothing of substance to report just yet. Thanks.

It sounds like bringing this to the Xbox has shifted to a lower priority. If you don't mind me asking, is this something that's definitely still happening and coming to Xbox?
It sounds like at this time, it's still pretty far away, is that correct? I'm just crossing fingers that it's still definitely coming, at least eventually.

@easy301 It's at the same priority level as before. I wrote this a week or so ago.
"Bits of work happening this end but other projects and priorities in the way currently. It's all planned but nothing of substance to report just yet."
That's pretty much still the case. Doing the main 146 update and getting it ready for Xbox compatibility is something we're keen to do, an interesting task for the Dev team. It's important we get it done, it'll be great for the company and the product we want to get the work moving and then completed. But there remains other projects that have to be considered initially. A quick rundown - Piper fleet updates. Piper fleet Xbox compatibility. F28 Development. Lots of other everyday tasks that can't be ignored...
Things take time in software development, new things crop up all of the time. Nothing is ever smooth or straightforward but rest assured the 146 work will happen and the update and the Xbox version will happen. Hopefully sooner rather than later but we can't guarantee dates and release times just at the moment.
Hope that helps for now.

I understand, that helps, thank you very much.
We as consumers often don't have a transparent view on what's happening behind the scenes, understandably, and for those of us that are really excited for the product we sometimes try and read in to updates that may only be a few sentences long, I guess that's only human.
To be clear, I fully understand the oftentimes significant efforts behind even seemingly simple tasks in development. I totally understand it's not as simple as programming "Ready for Xbox=True".
I absolutely agree with the release being beneficial for the company, Xbox users are chomping at the bit for ANY high fidelity airliner at the moment, with the only one being the A310. I'm excited there's going to be a large user base that will appreciate an aircraft like this.
I apologize if my initial comment above that you responded to frustrated you.
Thank you for the update.
