Why on earth can't I land this aircraft?

Hi Martyn,
I must admit I was more focussed on lining up the aircraft and not totally aware of descent rates. I feel it was on the glide slope but I was possibly too much over Vref on the approach.
I've only flown the 200 variant freighter.
Would that cause this?
Cheers

I generally find it very variable how "well" I land in all the planes I fly. Almost the worst is that when I think it's touched down very nicely, I get told it was -300+/m and other times when I make a "positive" landing I get 120/m.
If you want numbers then Volanta is free and will give stats for vs at touchdown and G loading.
I also have a couple of ACARS programs from VAs I fly for which give readouts for VS in the terminal stage of the approach.
I guess the issue is that even if it tells me I was at 300/m at 400ft and 400 at 10 it doesn't tell me why.
I have a suspicion (at least in the 737) that I'm idling too early and stalling, or the rate is measured when the nosegear touches and I'm rushing to slam that down.
I've got a saved state for circuits at EGNT and I guess I just keep practicing. Off to do that now...
What I will also do is video the terminal stage so I can hopefully replay in the cockpit and see what the controls and instruments looked like.
Final thought is that I was actually much happier until I got actual numbers - once they are there then they become the be-all which is kind of a shame..

Thanks mate, I fully expect it's my flying at fault here but I've had no major problems with the PMDG 737 or CRJ 550 so I'm wondering if the 146 just has some idiosyncrasies that I need to get my head around.
It's probably just practice and familiarisation that I need.
Cheers

@maarp Hi maarp, I know how frustraiting it is after a flight when the landing doesn´t work as expected. I only want to mention a point if it helps. Speed is crucial during the aproach, you know it. Too slow you can stall, too fast you bounce a lot and probably don´t stop inside the runway.
This aircraft allows what others not: that you use your tail spoiler to control the approach speed all the way down. It means, during your approch and configured for landing, if speed is higher than it has you can extend the spoilers reducing it to the exact speed for touch down. If you look at some pictures and videos you will see the aircraft approaching in many cases all the way down with the tail spoilers extended. I have in my hardware (TQ6) one lever only for the spoiler, so that I play with it as needed during approach. Once landed the spoiler on the wings extends and you aplly gentle brakes. Remember that the BAe 146 has the landing gear in the fusselage, making it a bit more difficult to control on the runway at high speed.
Hope it helps and wish you nice landings
