[resolved] Suddenly Asobo think I own the Turbo Arrow, and there's something weird going on with my install.

They're sort of correct. I do own the Turbo Arrow, and the non turbo, and the Hawk and the 146, but I bought them all direct from JF and they only appear in my community folder when I'm going to fly or update them, so it was something of a surprise to see in the content manager in MSFS that an update was available for the Turbo Arrow which wasn't currently installed. No mention of the other planes, just the Turbo Arrow.

I blinked a couple of times when I saw it but I've been using windows since 3.1 so shrugged and carried on, should I be nervous or was 'ok asobo, good job, 10 points but try to keep your colouring in inside the lines" a good enough response ?

Edit : interestingly I just had to look in the Turbo Arrow folder which is in the community folder because I just updated it, and it has nothing in it but a content info folder. The folders for the Hawk and 146 which are also in there are fine and I can select those planes in the sim. I think it's time to redownload that last update (from JF ) and reinstall the Turbo Arrow !

Edit 2 : Ok, I'm getting a little concerned. I have downloaded a new installer which said it would upgrade the installed version 0.05.003 to version 0.5.5. Sounded dodgy but I clicked ok and it looked to have worked. In the community folder nothing changed, so I tried uninstalling the plane (reported as v0.5.5) through windows settings. The installer said it had worked and the plane folder such as it was vanished from my community folder, but the Turbo Arrow stayed in the list of installed programs. I'm now in a groundhog day where I can uninstall v0.5.5 as many times as I want but it never disappears from the list of installed programs, and I can update v0.05.003 as many times as I want but nothing appears in the community folder. I'm about to call asobo's bluff and try installing it from the marketplace, any other ideas ?

Edit 3 : So Asobo don't think I own the turbo arrow, they just decided for some reason that out of all the addons I own that I didn't buy from them, they were going to list that one in the content manager. So I still can't install it, or repair it, or uninstall it. Even if I delete the nearly empty Turbo Arrow folder from my community folder then run the installer it still says it wants to update version 0.05.003, then it just creates this folder structure but doesn't actually write any files into the folders.

Edit 4 : I have tried with the 0.5.3 installer as well as the 0.5.5, the only change is that I now have an 0.5.3 install that won't disappear instead of an 0.5.5.

Edit 5 : I decided I wasn't going to be beaten by this &%$*&$% computer so I did a broad search of the forum for some ideas.

Then I deleted all traces of the Turbo Arrow from
HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Just Flight London
HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Just Flight MSFS
HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Just Flight MSFS\package

and used CCleaner to uninstall it again for good luck then delete it from the list of installed software.

Finally I ran the 0.5.5 installer again and, long story short, I'm now in a test hop between two random airports on the Côte d'Ivoire (because it's daylight there :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: ) and all seems well. When I land I'm going to check in the content manager to see if asobo still have one of their filthy fingers in my Turbo Arrow pie but for the moment it's all sunshine, beaches, and ivory.

edit 6 : Turbo Arrow is confirmed mighty once again, now, about that pitch hold clickspot I mentioned would be lovely to slip into in a future update ...
