GS Capture Issues/Trim
-
Has anyone else had issues with glide slope capture? The end of the tutorial flight was all kinds of weird for me. First pass I descended to 2000 as in the tutorial, in alt hold mode, armed V/L and GS modes, had the first officer dutifully call out localizer and glide slope alive, only to be seriously out of alignment and too fast with the plane unwilling to descend even when taking over manually, like there was way too much nose up trim.
Second time, glide slope looked like it captured but the plane never descended and I passed over the field at 2500ft. I was not in alt hold mode that time though, so that might have been the issue.
Final time I came in and everything captured, but the GS was parked at the upper end of the scale. It followed it down, and according to the PAPI I was mostly on the GS, but by the time I took over at 500ft I was very low.
There's definitely some user error in here, but I was surprised when everything finally "worked" on my third pass that the AP kept me low.
Also, does anyone else find the trim hard to use while manually flying? Could just be getting used to it but I feel like I need to keep putting on trim without any effect until I reach some critical mass and suddenly it's too much.

@jmarkows " I need to keep putting on trim without any effect until I reach some critical mass and suddenly it's too much."
This happened to me just now trying to manually fly to set up an approach. I had engines at flight idle, speed at 250 kias, pull back on the elevator to take speed off as I'm trying to trim nose up. Finally get it close to profile, put a little power in and then its WAY too much. Could definitely be user error but doesn't seem right.
