New improved Propeller physics

Bear in mind that the new prop physics are still not yet fully documented and are likely to have most effect when SU9 and its supposed CFD system are released. The current understanding is that prop 'drag' is actually created by reducing thrust, which is likely to cause its own complications.
So it's not a case of just 'adding it in', there is likely to be a fair bit of head scratching and possibly re-writing large sections of the flight model yet again to deal with SU9.

@cicimicikiller See my post directly above yours - likely not until SU9 because there is no point in entirely re-writing the flight dynamics twice! Currently, the bulk of the benefits from the new prop physics appear to be for twin-engined aircraft.

@delta558 I understand, but what was stated is "We intend to add that feature once we're confident that SU8 is stable", that's why I asked
I just hope the answer will not be the same after SU9, because I am sure SU9 will not be the last flight dynamics update.
And by the way, SU9 is not even on the road map -

Subsequent to that post, it was then stated:

That is still the case. Hope that clarifies things. It's probably best to describe the new physics as different until we can see what, if any, improvements they make, post- SU9

@derek I saw
yourDelta558 post, and I understand what it said, but it does not mention anywhere in it that there will be no new implementation done before SU9, it only implies it's not easy and with SU9 it should have more effect.I can wait, but saying it will be implemented when SU8 is stable and then not mentioning anywhere that we are about to wait several weeks maybe even months until SU9 is released is very misleading....
-
@cicimicikiller Delta558's original post all but confirms that they're gonna wait until at least SU9, so I'm not sure why you think that wasn't stated. Nothing misleading there. I'm sure if they could give us an exact timeline, they would.

I really have nothing else to say, don't make statements like this if you don't know if it's going to happen

@cicimicikiller If you look at the timing of the post you quote, you will see that it was March 1st. From memory, SU8 was released on Feb 28th, i.e. the day before. At that point, the 'intent' (to quote Martyn) was to introduce the new propeller physics once we fully understood them and the game was seen to be in a stable state after the update.
After a bit more time with the sim, combined with the information regarding aerodynamic improvements given in this video : https://youtu.be/Ndl07_7PsWg in which Seb directly references SU9 and the introduction of CFD with that update (despite the fact that the roadmap currently does not go beyond the end of this month and include it), it made no sense to try and introduce the new prop physics now and then have to rewrite everything once more when SU9 is released.
I will also say now that, given the proposed scale of changes to the flight model with SU9, any resultant changes will not be immediate because they will require study, implementation and then a serious amount of testing as the flight model will likely be entirely new.
The fact that companies are producing relatively high level aircraft for the game at this early stage (given its unstable nature) means that there is a lot more work involved than with previous sims in terms of updating, new learning etc. If you want everything introduced by Asobo immediately in 3rd party products, you are asking for trouble. We will take our time and do our best to get it right. We will continue to communicate with customers with information as we see it at the time. If that information changes, we will also try to communicate it in a timely manner (as here). If that upsets you, there really isn't a lot we can do about it.
