This is really basic, but I'm completely baffled.

I hit the Direct To button on the 530, then try to use the GPS knobs in the lower right corner of the unit to select the input field and select the station using the mouse to push/turn the knobs. Nothing happens. The knob makes the sound like it's turning and the knob animates like it's turning, but nothing happens on the display; I cannot select an input field or use the knobs to dial in a waypoint identifier. What stupid thing am I missing here? Surely it cannot be this hard!

@djmot Do you see the input field flashing in the gps screen? A flashing input box indicates you are in cursor mode, and then you can spin the knobs to select the letters. To get into cursor mode, press in on the right knob (the one that says PUSH CRSR).

Also, are you using the pms50 mod? If not, I highly recommend it (though this basic functionality works fine without it)

@n293wk There is no indication on the "screen" of the 530 of anything. It stays completely unchanged no matter what I do. No, there is no flashing cursor at all. In my use of this, and similar units in other sims, the procedure has been to push the inner knob to activate the cursor, then spin the inner knob to select an input field, then spin the outer knob to cycle through letters/numbers. None of that happens on the screen of the 530 in this aircraft, although the spin animations and sounds are occurring normally.

I do not know if this is a problem in the other Just Flight Piper aircraft; I have all of them, but just happen to be dealing with the Turbo Arrow 4 at the moment.

I do have the PMS50 GTN750 installed. It seems to be working fine, and although a great alternative to some of the more basic units, I'm posting about a problem with the included 530. I would appreciate finding out what I am doing wrong, or if there is actually a bug with this aircraft.

No, he's not asking about the 750, PMS has a free 530/430 mod and is asking about if you have that installed.

@jmarkows - Sorry. Took my eyes of the ball here for a while dealing with more pressing matters.

Other than the PMS50 GTN750, this aircraft is stock as supplied by Just Flight.

As there seems to be no answer forthcoming here in the forum, I will contact support for further guidance on this.

    Thank you all.

@djmot Honestly, try downloading the PMS 530 mod and see if that fixes it first. It does a lot of good to the stock GNS units, might fix the issue.

@jmarkows - Ha! Yes, installing the PMS50 GNS 530 mod fixed it. Maybe this is just a known functionality issue with the stock 530. Thank you for the link, too. Super helpful.
