    As the title says, the external model trim tab moves the wrong way as trim controls are operated. I.e: trim the plane nose-down, and the tab moves down relative to the stabilator.

    This is the opposite behavior from RL, where the trim tab moves such as to force the main surface into the desired position. That means, for nose-down, the tab would move up, to force the stabilator itself to pitch up, thus forcing the nose of the plane down.

    Which means, the trim tab should always move contrary to the desired motion of the nose, as it pushes not on the airframe, but on the control surface itself.

    It's a simple fix, no doubt. And understandably, an easy thing to get wrong too. The whole notion of "a tail on the tail" does get a bit confusing sometimes.

    But yeah, it's definitely backwards on the T-Tailed Arrow IV. Not sure about the III, though.

    This should not be confused with the additional anti-servo function of that same trim tab. These Pipers have a combined motion on those things that act to provide a little more force on the controls, giving the pilot a tighter feel for the plane and balancing out the yoke inputs. (It is ideal that the roll and pitch controls have a closely matched weight to them) -- That anti-servo motion animation as of now is fully correct. It is only the trim motion direction that is backwards.

    Cheers

    v0.5.0

    @derek

    I do believe yes, as the MarketPlace does point out whenever a new version is available and I've checked it showing nothing pending for this aircraft as of the last sim update this Monday.

    Unless an update came up since then, I think I'm on the latest version.

    Now, mind that I'm not talking about the axis behavior, as that's been covered by other threads. I mean the external model animation of the trim tab on the Arrow IV (still haven't checked the III) is reversed, but only in regards to the trim itself. The anti-servo motion of that same tab is correct.

    You can reproduce this by moving the trim without moving the surface with the yoke (on the ground, ideally) -Then you'll note that with regards to trim, the animation is backwards. This has nothing to do with the trim axis as far as controls are concerned. It is backwards relative to the trim position as shown on the aircraft itself (as per indicator near trim wheel)

    Worth contacting Just Flight support in that case. I am surprised it has not been noticed up to now.

    NB that the MP does not always have the latest version of the software and doesn't flag when a patch is available for direct customers that they have yet to implement. The updates from 19/11 that were uploaded to MP on 27th November were only released to MP customers on 16th December. However, you should have that version so worth contacting support.

    Hmm...not seeing this at all, in any of the Arrows. Turbo Arrow v.5.1 according to the EFB.
