Heading bug hard to see
-
Hello,
On the Arrow series, the (HSI or regular) heading bug is very hard to see (very thin and colour not enough flashy).
Could you please make an update to enlarge the thickness of the bug or make the red/orange colour more flashy please ? -
I second this. I too think that the heading bug currently is a tiny bit too thin. And the color needs to be more into the orange/red spectrum.
I already tried playing with the textures. There is one texture file that looks a lot like this yellowish color that the heading bug currently has. I tried using Photoshop to increase the luminance and change the hue of this texture but it did not change anything inside the cockpit. So I don’t know if I changed the right texture. -
@sender46 I also adore realism but this is not the point...
Actually on the Arrow there is a non functionnal Garmin 100 (which is no really realistic) and an altitude hold mode (which is also really far from realism), so please do not argue about realism, it is not a valid argue. :face_with_monocle:In fact, this heading bug is too hard to see and harder again when playing in 1920*1080 (due to blur effect).
When creating this post I was not expecting to have someone agree with my though and second it...
It simply shows that this issue is real and impacts playability :neutral_face:Thanks to consider this issue :)

@biokerozen Regarding your request for consideration of this issue, people who do not want it changed are entitled to make that known, so that can be included in the consideration.
People have differing views and preferences and are entitled to express them. All I did was make a statement of fact and state what I like.
It is not appropriate for you to wag your emoticon finger at me and tell me not to do that or for you to claim that my statement of two facts is not valid.

@sender46 Calm...
First, my emoticons were not meant to hurt you of course and sorry if it hurts you (I update my previous post to not shock you). By the way I usually put a lot of emoticons in my posts :)
Secondly, I think you misunderstood my thought, I've never said that your opinion to leave the heading bug as it is rigth now was not legitimate, of course we have surely different point of views. My topic is not an order for JF team to do an update, just to share thougths about this subject and see if something can be done ;)That said, sorry but I maintain that the realism argue is not valid as some things already are in place and show that the plane is not 100% realistic, these are just the facts :/
I also love realism (much more than you might think) as I already said but for the moment it's very handicapping for some users.I'd like to add that I'm not fluent in english and try to do my best (with my knowledge and the translating tools) to write my opinion correctly and understandably... sorry if I missed that point and hurt you !
Peace & Harmony

@biokerozen The fact that some other things are "unrealistic" is not an argument to make more things unrealistic.
Besides, the I believe GPS100 isn't working due to technical limitations anyway, not a design decision, and the altitude hold mode is hidden away so it's almost possible to not even know it's there. Making the heading bug bigger or more flashy would be an in-your-face change that would be visible 100% of the time.

@n293wk I really think there is enough latitude between present display of the heading bug and what you describe without necessearlly sinking into extremism ;)
I already know for the GPS 100 but as I said it is the facts about realism (it's not a reproach to the JF developers).
And about the altitude hold mode, If I follow your thougth, pointing the HSI with the mouse and instantly make theheading bug bigger or with a changed color while cursor is over, would be a nice solution... which I'm not convinced ;)I prefer to have the bug with more seable color (increase luminance ?) than changing his shape ... and of course, you have well understood the subject... having the bug be visible 100% of the time :ok_hand_light_skin_tone: and not be forced to zoom with the nose on the HSI to see where the bug is :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I noticed that before I was playing with a 4K monitor and the bug was seable but since I play in FullHD it's very harder !
