Cannot get VOR to work
-
Tried everything, quite prepared to accept that I am doing something wrong here but what..?
I am replicating Youtube "JustFlight BAe Hawk T.Mk.1A VOR and TACAN tutorial" by Boresight:
I am on EGYD RAF Cranwell rwy 08. TACAN is off, VOR/ILS set to VOR TNT 115.7
CDI white arrow pointing to N, green arrow to "11 o'clock" which happens to be 115. Course 000, DME crossed out. GS and NAV flags both showing red.
When I switch navigation mode selector to ILS nothing happens! Whereas in Boresights's video the HSI tunes in to the TNT VOR and the DME shows 042 nm. as it should do.
Tried same thing at EBAW with ANT VOR 113.5 and BUB VOR 114.6 but no reaction, as above.
Any advice please....... much appreciated
(community folder is empty, aparty from the Hawk)

@ben104 VOR and ILS worked fine for me. I've tried a couple of stations and no problem at all. Although tuning the frequency is very complicated. Try setting TACAN panel to TX/RX, just in case. Also make sure NAV/GPS switch is in NAV mode (right console) and TACAN/ILS button must be on ILS (center panel).

@ben104 Reply to my own post, may help others:
Thanks for responses, they did not improve the situation as I had already done what was suggested but all advoice helps and is appreciated!
Nevertheless, I tried it again but it still does not work.
But then............: I re-downloaded and re-installed (in fact: repaired) the Hawk and it works again! Although I was still unable to get a response on TNT 115.7 and GAM 112.8 while on EGYD (Cranwell) rwy 08, I did get a response in the HSI from the ILS 108.5.
While on EBAW rwy 08, I now did get a response in the HSI from both ANT 113.5 and BUB 114.6.
Let's leave it here. The Hawk is absolutely great, that is for sure.

Hey Ben,
I’m uncertain how exactly Just Flight models this, but my impression is that, since the Hawk doesn’t have a VOR receiver, all non-GPS navigation is done through the TACAN. Since MSFS was not modeling TACAN, JF works around this by having TACAN channels EQUATE to VOR frequencies.
Now the Hawk does have an ILS receiver. But ILS frequencies are, by convention, in a lower frequency band.
So, with the TACAN/ILS switch in ILS you should only get CDI sensing for an ILS frequency, if you had one dialed in.
And dialing in a VOR frequency, should result in no response at all. Dialing in the TACAN equivalent as printed in the manual, however would.
Unless something has changed recently in MSFS/the Hawk.
