    As per object and video.
MSFS and Just Flight PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV (MSFS) are up to date.
I have to redirect the aircraft with the HDG heading and switch to follow the course offered by VOR signal

      [SOLVING]

The manual isn't properly clear (or was my fault), but even in NAV or OMNI coupler mode the HDG switch must be turned on.

Not sure if this is solved per-se, been flying around today with some other players practising VOR navigation and I was having problems intercepting the signals in the PA-28, unlike my fellow pilots who seemed to be having no probs.

What is the range for picking up VOR signals.

Tried today and getting red flag on HSI.

@gabe777 Standard VORs are generally around 100-130 miles, less if there is terrain in the way.

@grol There are several types of "standard" VOR stations, with very different ranges from 25 miles up to 130 miles. Here is a very good VOR training article to read... https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2000/december/flight-training-magazine/the-abcs-of-vors

@retiredman93231 I am aware of this, my answer was pitched at what seemed like the level of the question.

                Cheers

I'm using the GTN 750 free version and assume if WAL VOR is a waypoint, I just click on VLOC.... the GPS/NAV switch is automatically enabled to NAV.... but the HSI just shows a red flag even right over the VOR !

Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Will try later with just the default radio stack... it may be a 750 issue.

                  Cheers.

I think I already know what I'm doing wrong !

I'm so used to the 747 auto tuning nav frequencies at least on approach, I don't think the 750 does auto tune the nav radios.

                    Doh !

Think I'll try manually tuning the NAV radio !
