Missing Regional Airlines
-
Hello,
I noticed I'm missing a lot of regional airlines in the US. I don't see any American, Delta, or United let alone others. I have it in the most "realistic" setting. Not seeing mainly any CRJ aircraft other than Air Canada CRJ-900s. Also Delta Connection E-175s but that's it. Is that the way this program is designed?
Also, a lot of double spawns. One plane flying right next to another.
Is this the same for everyone else?
Thank you!

Hi Northwest 102
You can check what AI aircraft are available via the Aircraft Explore section of AI Fleet. You may also find that lots of schedule flights don't show because TG has not allocated an aircraft to the flight. You can add an aircraft to incomplete schedules using Edit Scheduled Flight Plan. You will need to recompile traffic afterwards.
Recently TG has added an import aircraft function which means you can add additional aircraft from your flight sim library. I have been playing with this function with partial success. I have found out that flyable aircraft are more likely to be accepted and appear. Again you will have to add any new aircraft to the schedules or create your own via Add new Flight Plan. Don't forget to re-compile.
TG is quite flexible once you know how to manipulate it.
It seems that everyone has a spawning problem unless your traffic setting in the flight sim programme is reduced. I recommend you report this to the help desk
Good luck.

Quite a few versions back now, some of the repaints for the CRJ200 were inexplicably removed from TG.
Luckily, someone at the time had the foresight to upload them to Avsim as traffic_global_crj200_pack.zip

Perhaps adding the liveries back manually & recompiling might help a bit. -
@capt-quirk Thank you! I'll give this a try later.

@capt-quirk Quick question. How do you install them correct? I assumed entire the textures into the: TrafficGlobalFllet > JFAI_CRJ200 file then in the CFG change the numbering to [fltsim.#]?
Was that correct or should have just copied the CFG that came with the download right over?

@northwest102
Absolutely correct!
Copying the texture folders plus the additional aircraft.cfg entries and renumbering the [fltsim.n] sections in numerical order will do the trick nicely.
I can't say for certain that recompiling will actually create any traffic using them (though it's sure worth a try) but they should at least then be available for substitution or to create your own flightplans as Lockheedlad has already said. -
@capt-quirk I wonder what I'm doing wrong. All I can see is the Air Canada CRJ-900. I don't see American, Delta, or United.

Have you compiled the flight plans again?

@northwest102
Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though it's as simple as just adding back these repaints.
I've just tried it myself and, though the liveries do appear in Aircraft Explorer, they pick up incorrect Variant Names in the Aircraft Details listing.
Neither do they compile into TrafficGlobal_AI.bgl, so manually adding flightplans for them or using them as substitutions in existing flightplans may be the only way to go.
As it would seem highly unlikely that these will be added back into TG in future, if you're just missing those regionals, a much easier option would be to add them to the sim independent of TG (eg: using AIG) that way you would avoid the possibility of losing any alterations that you make in future updates to TG. -
@capt-quirk I wish I knew how to do any of that. Why would they not be added back into Traffic Global?
