Issues following SU 5
-
Hello,
Adding to the list of fall-out following SU 5:
- Looking around in the cockpit using the mouse with right-click is disabled when an X-box controller is activated (i.e. switched on and picked up by the sim). When the controller is deactivated again, the mouse look feature returns to normal.
- When spinning the heading bug with the mouse wheel there is no acceleration any more, i.e. it moves in one degree increments only. Spinning the OBS knobs seem to work like before with acceleration kicking in.
The first bullet might also explain some of the weird behaviour some are seeing with loss of controls etc? I only experienced the conflict on the ground with the mouse look after switching on my X-box controller (which I use for the drone cam), and decided not to take off :) , so not sure if it interferes with anything else.
... and not sure if these are JF related or general.

The situation for both third-party developers and their customers regarding MFS Sim Updates is beyond frustrating. Each major update forces developers to do more unpaid development work to fix everything that is suddenly broken, while their customers are unable to enjoy any of their plane addons on patch day, or shortly thereafter, because of how broken everything turns out to be.
The developer preview builds are a step in the right direction, but if the release build differs so significantly from the beta (or otherwise introduces significant undocumented changes), the preview is but of little use. The development cycle for aircraft add-ons never seems to stops when you have to redo signifcant aspects of the add-on each time or risk disgruntling premium-paying customers.

I do not agree on that completely.
Developers like JF building and built up a reputation for updating their products frequently and for a long time.
And exact this reputation, and the quality of their products of course, make people buy their stuff.
These fixes and improvements are an investment für future sells of the current and future products. -
Hello again. Yes it is frustrating, but let’s not make this post a principal discussion about MSFS and third party developers, please.
I have done some experimenting on the two bullets above. I can actually reproduce both with the stock C 152 and the JF Piper Arrow 3 (v0.8.0). :)
Solution to the first bullet seems to be easy. I removed the mapping on the X-box controller that was conflicting with the mouse-look... and it worked. Mouse-look works again and controller still works fine in drone mode also.
Hope this can help others as well.
