Manifold pressures changed in v0.3.0?
-
Before updating to v0.3.0 on setting takeoff power I would reach 41" manifold pressure with a throttle setting not far below the throttle stop. With v0.3.0 I hit 41" MP at around half throttle, or maybe even a bit less, and with only a very slight increase in throttle MP shoots over 45".
I also updated the non-turbo Arrow to v0.8.0 and tested throttle/MP and it hasn't changed since v0.5.2.

This is correct operation for the throttle in this aircraft... The engine logic was updated after v0.3.0 to more accurately model the behavior of the fixed wastegate turbocharger used in this aircraft.

RM,
Thanks for the response. I have no real-life experience in turbocharged aircraft so I didn't know if this behavior was realistic or not. In our Cherokee 180 you just pushed the throttle to the stop and off you went. I will say though with the new logic it makes the throttle VERY touchy/sensitive, and difficult to set for approach - either too little, or too much. Currently I don't have dedicated throttle hardware and use the slider on my MS Force Feedback II stick. Maybe a hardware throttle with a longer range of travel would help. -
Which is why pretty much every Turbo Arrow has had an aftermarket variable wasteagte fitted which is miles better on the engine and even increases the critical altitude 😎
