    I've had similar issues from day 1. Never been able to complete a flight, sim is constantly disconnecting and messing up FTL flow. Ticket was sent but they only asked me to try stuff that I already tried numerous times. And it takes a long time to get an answer. I'm sorry that you get that problem, I think it's a software bug.

      @Fruel: Thanks for your message. I am also afraid that I will get not sufficient help to solve the problem and it helps to know I am not alone in this. I also filed a ticket, but until now no response. It will be dissapointing if this stays like this, because i really like the idea of FTL (lot of freedom and because I fly only short flights it suits me well).

            Many thanks. That ticket was submitted on Wednesday afternoon, so someone will deal with it in the next day or two. We are a small team and aim to deal with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible.

              Hi Derek,

              That is no problem, glad you guys are looking into it.

              My "fear" about not get the help I need comes from the fact that the problem is not mentioned on the forum by other members. The fact that I now posted 7 messages on the forum and every message still has to be approved by a moderator makes me think we do not see every message (and possibly every product problem) on the forum.

              Now, I do not say that the Just Flight forum is not fully open and honest.

              But the fact that more and more developers (even one of the biggest in the world) are releasing products that are not finished is not contributing to a lot of trust on this side.

              But then again, Just Flight has never disappointed me until now. Thanks again !

                @Bentree

                Only a handful of posts require moderation - usually about three per week. Probably due to a word in the original thread from that poster. I have moderated quite a few of yours in the last few days. No idea why. If I knew the reason and posted it up, it would probably assist the spammers.
                Deleting or pretending to moderate any posts that referred to a specific problem in order to cover it up would not really be very clever - a load of extra work and one would get found out pretty quickly.

                As to support, programs like FTL, Traffic, Air Hauler, Active Sky etc are complex and, despite rigorous testing, always throw up far more than their fair share of issues with users' PCs.
                You'll find plenty of "it doesn't show any traffic" complaints on FS Traffic and yet there are also plenty of videos from independent reviewers showing traffic. We could always adopt the 1930s Bugatti appraoch - any problems with the car (even a snapped crankshaft) are down to the driver. However, that's not really practical or helpful. But, unfortunately, it does mean that things like CTDs, programs not loading, or not performing the basic task are very difficult to rectify and one always has to go through the "are you sure you've switched it on?" rigmarole - much to the annoyance of the person with the problem.

                Regarding the 'not finished' accusation, I'm afraid that's the nature of a program that is going to be constantly improved and tweaked over time. For example, I have been in this business for over a quarter of a century and, up to now, X-Plane has never been 'finished'. That is one of its USPs.

                We don't release software that's untested or not working but in the case of a program like FTL we (and the developer) will happily respond to customer feedback and make changes and updates that improve the experience.

                Thank you for your patience and hopefully we can get this issue resolved for you. Generally, the more serious the problem, the easier it is to fix.

                  Hi Derek,

                  I have managed to get FTL recognize the sim, simply to start FTL as administrator.

                  So happy about that, but a new problem appears.... I am at Manchester EGCC for the return flight of the one I could do yesterday. I am at the same gate as where I arrived yesterday....but whatever i try....FTL is saying I am at the wrong airport........no return flight possible.

                    @Bentree

                    Glad to hear your main problem is fixed. As far as the other one goes, I'd recommend a new support ticket unless you get a reply from another user. NB that, as a rule, we don't do forum support. Happy to chat about all aspects of the software but if one has a problem the best solution is to get it logged and it can be looked into. If nothing else, the more people reporting something the easier it is to see the problem.

                      @Bentree said in FTL isn't detecting MSFS:

                      I am at the same gate as where I arrived yesterday....but whatever i try....FTL is saying I am at the wrong airport........no return flight possible.

                      Possibly saving that ticket - have you actually loaded the flight at the gate, or are you sitting on the world map / flight planning screen?

                      You can be sitting on the flight planner screen, gate set, flight plan set, anywhere in the World and FSUIPC will say you're at 0N,0E, off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. Actually loading the flight often resolves that one instantly.

                      That's cropped up a few times, hence my suggesting it as the most likely cause.

                        Hi Ian,

                        Thanks !
                        Not sure what it was, but after I closed everything and restarted MSFS and FTL it was all fine. I will keep an eye on it, if it happens more often I will file a ticket.

                        Just finished my second flight and starting to like the program !

                          Fruel...... You might check how you startup FTL, when I start it with administrator rights the sim is detected here !
