Fokker F28 Feedback, bug report and suggestions

Hello Just Flight team!
Since the release of the F28, I must have flown your plane probably 200+ hours and i really love it. During those numerous flights, I noticed many little things that I'd really want you to take a look into. These are bugs and feature requests that concern the F28 but could also be applied to the upcoming F100 and 70.TEXTURES :
♦Pax windows : they lack some details and polygons. I think they need some more love. I noticed the same downgrade on the F100 teasing pictures. I think they should be as good as the cockpit since you often have a look through it during the flight and the lack of detail (don't get me wrong, it's not that bad) is just right in your face :)
♦All the way at the back of the cabin, textures look grainy and low resolution.
MISC :
♦It would be nice if you removed the camera restriction behind the main door so we can "walk around" the aircraft using the interior camera slew. I know some mods achieved this already and it's convenient (unlike drone camera).
♦Why not adding some window shades. I noticed there are slides above FO and Captain windshields for them to slide. I might mistake them for something else though.
♦I'd love to have the same checklist and charts holder on the on yoke as the new BAE146 V2.
♦There's still a bug with the engines smoke that do not go sideways according to the crosswind direction. This causes two trails between the contrail and smoke of the aircraft. (Tested with empty community folder).
♦Exterior light leaks through the cockpit slightly and illuminates all cockpit 3D details. (visible on cold and dark at night) It happens sometimes when a light source is situated below the plane or right behind the nose.
CONTROLS :
♦The plane is too sensitive to crosswind on the ground and is difficult to keep straight even at high speeds. And with a 15 knots crosswind, the plane is almost uncontrollable (although I have curves on my controls for less sensitivity).
(For this complaint, I made sure to disable the steering on rudder setting and use the rudder only on take off).
SU15 brings new ground physics settings. Will Just Flight integrate it to their existing products? Such as pneumatic and ground friction. It's said that each dev will have to implement it by themselvesSOUNDS :
♦Concerning engine sounds and sound management in general, this may be very subjective and hard to tell as the aircraft no longer flies irl, but the engines seem to be a tad too loud in the cockpit since they are way in the back in the -2000 and -4000 variants. Shouldn't we rather hear more aerodynamic and packs air supply sounds? I'd say the fix could be in the Wwise 3D sound balance according to camera placement. Maybe try to quieten the engines the further forward you go in the cabin.
As an example, in Xplane 11, I was impressed by how the Threshold B738 sound pack was made. You could hear more wind sounds if your head/camera was closer to the windshield, more instrument sounds (steam gauge cooling system I guess?) near the main panel, different sounds volumes and sound frequencies range in different parts of the cabin like an open vs closed cockpit door...etc This could be achieved with low pass filters, or some equalisation curves to the sound set (I work in the music industry as well as mixing/mastering sounds).
I am sure Just Flight could add more Wwise 3D spots and add more sound variety and details in harmony with all the visual and system-wise work you put into your planes 😊 They would even sound more lively and authentic.♦Some switches sounds do not work most of the time, particularly winshield heat and anti-ice switches. You have to turn them on and off to hear the sound. Happens in your BAE 146 too. Some streamers noticed this during their block 2 test flight stream.
I may have forgot a few points there but that's overall what came in my mind so far.
Thank you for your amazing work! You're still my favorite dev team for msfs and I really can't wait for your Fokker 70 and 100. I just hope you'd take my feedback into consideration, forgiving my english syntax and vocabulary :)Best,
A Fokker tay-Fan -
@Celti Thank you for the detailed feedback. We're pleased to hear you have been enjoying the F28!
We have logged your feedback on our internal bugs/feature request trackers and we'll respond to individual feedback below:
-
Passenger cabin textures/polygon count: Increasing the detail/polygon count in the cabin is a double-edged sword, yes we could increase the quality of the cabin and bring it up to the same standard as the cockpit, but this will come at the expense of FPS/performance. At the moment we are more likely to improve the overall FPS/performance via further optimisation rather than increase the quality of the cabin any further than it currently is.
-
Passenger camera restrictions: There are no collision boundaries in the passenger cabins that should prevent you from moving the cockpit camera into the cabin. The only collision boundaries we place are on the cabin walls, and areas like the galley/toilet to prevent the camera from phasing through walls. You can move the cockpit camera into the cabin by using the left alt and arrow keys on your keyboard, or LB and the thumbstick on an Xbox controller.
-
Cockpit window shades: The cockpit model and textures were based on our F28 reference aircraft which didn't have window shades fitted. The majority of F28 photos we have seen online also show that most F28s didn't have window shades fitted as standard. We will investigate this though to see if this is something we could add in the future.
-
Interactive Paper Charts/Checklists: We will be adding these to the F28 in a future update.
-
Offset engine smoke: This is a known issue and something that is being investigated.
-
Exterior light leaks through the cockpit: Although this isn't something I can replicate on my end, there are limitations in MSFS where light can pass through doors that do not have collision boundaries set up. The solution to this would be for us to put a collision boundary / solid wall over the cockpit door and entrance door, but that would prevent the camera from moving through them. This isn't something we would want to do, so this sadly is just a limitation of MSFS.
-
Ground handling: We will investigate the ground handling once SU15 has been released and any improvements will be included in the next F28 update.
-
Engine sounds: The cockpit/engine sounds are accurate based on the limited high-quality reference material we have for the F28. The Spey turbojet engines fitted to the F28 were also fitted to military jets like Buccaneers and Phantoms so they are much louder than a modern-day high bypass turbofan engine. At the moment there are no plans to revisit the sound set in the F28, but your feedback has been logged in case this is revisited.
-
Switch sounds: Switch sounds not working on first actuation/when they return to their default position is a known issue and is not something we have been able to find the cause of. This has been investigated extensively by our coding and sound developers and the switches are set up correctly per the MSFS SDK so they should work as intended, but we haven't yet found a suitable cause or workaround to fix this. We'll continue to investigate this and if a fix can be developed, it will be included in a future update.

Thank you for your reply and taking my feedback into account!
However, concerning the camera restriction, I was not meaning the cockpit door but the main plane's door that allows you to go outside. The idea there is to be able to navigate out of the plane with the internal camera slew mode :)
Sorry for the confusion.Looking forward for the next F28 update.
