BS TBM 850 - My early thoughts
-
I'm loving it overall I think it gives you a sense of immersion as soon as you get in... Would agree with some bits getting some tweaks and polish but sure they will in time.
Features wise I'd like a headset simulation where you can plug in your virtual headset and reduce cabin noise as even on 1800/1900 rpm that prop drone is loud on longer flights.
I think the internal startup and shutdown sounds are great though.
Maybe a slider option for the alerter, DH and horn sounds would be nice as I think they are all a touch quiet -
@pedwards I agree with most of these comments. In addition, the takeoff trim indicators seem wonky. The elevator trim indiicator is backwards? I don't seem to detect any pull to the left on takeoff which I would expect with this prop. It would be nice to have a throttle/power lever calibration routine to accommodate the various hardware solutions out there.
But all in all a great plane. Hopefully, it will only improve.
John.

I'm with you on your list. Regarding the P-factor the sim is not nearly aggressive enough with this. When I flew both the 700 and 850 I was expecting the rudder use on takeoff, what did catch me by surprise was after landing and going to reverse thrust and finding I had to be very aggressive with the rudder!I love all the attention to detail with regards to the cockpit switches, decals, lighting. I am wondering if there are any future plans for the yoke clips? That would be a wonderful place to clip an approach plate and then be able to utilize that wonderful yoke clip light. I would add that to the Really nice to have list.

Agree on P-factor.
My guess on power limited to 100% on TO is too high P-factor with weak rudder authority at low speed..
Overhead lightning is to weak. Hard to see switch positions.Hoped to see some improvements in beta range. At least sound and fake prop RPM indication (for immersion). - But no doubt BS did their best within limitations.

Thanks for the compliments!
Work still in progress.Working with Nick on some refinements .Will keep you informed as soon as it's ready.Wil be most probably available on flightsim.to

@804737 Daniel, (and Nick)... if you've got any input with the team see if you can talk them into a clickspot on the yoke clip that reveals a chart sized clipboard with the ability to display a saved pdf/jpg file the user can select. That way you could display a SID/STAR/APP on the yoke... and even utilize that cool yoke map light if flying at night.

Hi,
I'm contributing humbly to some enhancement but don't have more influence than all of you but i'm sure Nick is carefully reading your comments and if it's within his capacities in terms of time of developpment , be sure he will try to deliver you the nicest addon you have ever dreamt of...
