Cargo Pilot and Tiger Moth won't install on Windows 10
-
Hello all,
New to the forum - did a search for troubleshooting as to how to get some of the earlier FSX compatible expansions to install. I wonder if any of you might have had this issue as well? I pop in the disk and it goes like this: I press the start app - goes to an install screen. I press 'continue with install'; it asks me language; I press the okay and the disk starts spinning. Then stops. Nothing. No activity. any clues or solutions on how to complete the install? It's not just for Cargo Pilot, but also Tiger Moth. But I haven't tried others yet. I'd welcome any insight.

Hi Will,
Also worth noting Cargo Pilot was developed for use in Windows XP so would likely run into problems using it in Windows10.
Did you buy the Tiger Moth and others from us or elsewhere? If you bought them from us feel free to drop us a support ticket:

@Rich
Thank you for this information, Rich. and for the very quick reply. It is very good to know. I'll address Simon's post in here as well, if I may. I will then bin Cargo Pilot and Tiger Moth (yes, I had purchased them through you, but over a decade ago now! I think starting a ticket instead of 'Starting Afresh' may be a waste of flight time!). I will test out the rest of my expansion collection as I was quite 'into it' a decade ago, and have got Traffic X, 757 Captain, VLJ Business Jet and a few others. Perhaps they're all 'broken' as you say.
So let's say I just start from scratch then, as a scenario. I currently have the DVD version of FSX installed on my computer, but considering moving to STEAM version for ease of use. I've head also about some other vendor that purchased the Microsoft flight program - a famous company like Lockheed or such.
My question then is: I certainly want expansions/add ons, such as traffic and weather, and things such as 777 types. How can I know if, on your JF offerings, they will function in Windows 10? Also, I may understand that if I were to get STEAM version of FSX, Cargo Pilot would not work on that as well? Since the base of my system is indeed Windows 10?
My apologies for the lengthy diatribe. I'm trying to get a handle on the hobby since 2006-2009!
kind regards,

Hi Will,
Indeed, sadly Cargo Pilot won't work in W10 regardless of whether its a download or boxed product in any FS platform.
Downloads use different DRM so should be ok (apart from Cargo Pilot and other similar programs developed for use in WinXP) in FSX Steam Edition.
P3D is a different story though. Most products developed for use in FSX will need/or have been updating to be compatible with P3D (especially P3Dv4 onwards).
If you bought previous versions of the boxed products directly from us years ago, again drop us ticket and we can take a look for you.
Thanks,
Simon
